Wonderful hosts, great big place perfect for 3 people. Little things like some doorknobs missing (they're finishing up the remodel), but overall, fantastic location and would absolutely use this space again.
Michael's place is very comfy especially after having a very long tiring walk in NYC. The place is clean as well. He and her wife Regina have been very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to others :)
We definitely will recommend this walk up Apartment. My goal was to experience a Brooklyn neighborhood by living in a Brownstone and check! Michael went above and beyond the call of duty by walking us around the neighborhood and telling us history and giving us great restaurant recommendations. We arrived close to midnight and he walked with us to the local market to purchase some milk, water and fresh fruit. The apartment was beautiful with Michael's art hanging and interesting books to browse. We moved to Harlem after 3 nights and wished we had booked Michael's for the entire week! I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Very nice place. The brownstone is old but well kept and Michael (email hidden). Fulton Street can be a little shady at night other than that the area is pretty nice and the subway is close.
Todd and his wife stayed in my two bedroom apartment, located in Bedford Stuyvesant-one of Brooklyn’s most desirable postal codes... it includes a diverse group of professionals, artists, families; they fit right in. I wish them well and encourage them to travel more, as they will discover that what may seem in their words, "shady" and or different, is simply people of varied backgrounds and cultures that make up a community- a community that welcomed them with warmth and friendliness. I would welcome them back anytime. -Michael
We can confirm the reviews of all other guests. Michael and Regina are very nice and helpful hosts. They live in a beautiful old house near the subway (5 minutes walk), which brings you everywhere in Manhattan. The neighborhood is relatively quiet. All you need you can buy there. Around the corner you can get really good coffee and espresso, and in the main street (ask Michael and Regina) there is a nice Italian restaurant with good food (black building, no signs). The apartment is cozy, comfortable, neat and clean. We really felt at home there (not only because the doors and the tiles in the bathroom are exactly the same as in our own house!). Some minor things: we missed some kitchen equipment like a tin-opener, a cutting board and kitchen towels, the light bulb above the kitchen was broken and the fridge does not cool enough. The use of the keys needs some practice. But these are minor things. We had a great stay and can really recommend the apartment of Michael en Regina.
Michael is an amazing host and a very good person. His wife is sweet and kind. They made us feel right at home. The apartment is well furnished, very clean and has everything you need. It's also well located. We loved staying at the flat and we loved staying with Michael and his family!
We highly recommend it.
Perfect place to visit NY
Thank you very much!
When we arrived, Michaels wife Regina gave us a warm welcome. The appartment is very comfortable and cosy. The kitchen is well appointed. There is a big stove, a huge fridge, coffemachine, mixer, toaster, ... everything you need to cook for a 10headed family. The bedrooms are nicely done up. Everything was clean and we felt immediatly familiar. The nights were very quiet and we had well-rested mornings. Mostly we met Michael in the morning. He is very friendly too and gave us tips and suggestions for our day-planning. The next subway-station is a few minutes away. On the way to the subway we met neighbours who greeted us. The subwayline direct to many tourist features. We stayed for 10 nights and Regina was so kind and called us an airport taxi. We had wonderful holidays. Michael and Regina, thanks for share your home with us! (Please apologize my terrible english)
We had a very pleasant stay at Michael's tasteful, comfortable and very clean two bedroom. He was a gracious and responsive host.
We had a lovely time staying at michaels apartment. It was really clean and Michael and his wife are wonderful host.
We loved staying at the flat. It was light and elegant, very clean , and had very good facilities. It really felt like a proper home and after long days visiting Manhattan, it was so nice to come back to (email hidden) to relax (our 2 sons particularly enjoyed films on demand on Netflex!).
We enjoyed being in Brooklyn and felt at ease and completely safe there. The metro stations are 5/10 minutes walk on Fulton Street, then you can catch direct lines into Manhattan. Fulton Street is lively and you can find supermarkets and restaurants/cafes with delicious ethnic food (the jerk chicken and goat curry were favourites!).
Michael and Regina were excellent hosts and gave us a very warm welcome which we really appreciated. Michael showed us round the area on our arrival and gave us lots of interesting information about Brooklyn, the property market in New York, and where to eat (we highly recommend brunch at Peaches, 2 minutes from the flat!).
We had an excellent stay in the flat and we highly recommend it. Thank you, Michael and Regina.
