Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • We loved staying at the flat. It was light and elegant, very clean , and had very good facilities. It really felt like a proper home and after long days visiting Manhattan, it was so nice to come back to such a lovely place to relax (our 2 sons particularly enjoyed films on demand on Netflex!).
We enjoyed being in Brooklyn and felt at ease and completely safe there. The metro stations are 5/10 minutes walk on Fulton Street, then you can catch direct lines into Manhattan. Fulton Street is lively and you can find supermarkets and restaurants/cafes with delicious ethnic food (the jerk chicken and goat curry were favourites!).
Michael and Regina were excellent hosts and gave us a very warm welcome which we really appreciated. Michael showed us round the area on our arrival and gave us lots of interesting information about Brooklyn, the property market in New York, and where to eat (we highly recommend brunch at Peaches, 2 minutes from the flat!).
We had an excellent stay in the flat and we highly recommend it. Thank you, Michael and Regina.

  • The apartment is excellent and we had a wonderful staying. The subway stop is just around the corner and very convenient to reach Manhattan.
Michael and his wife are wonderful hosts.
The kitchen is fully organized and beautiful....the only thing I was missing is coffee in the morning and I would have loved to have just a cup of coffee, but maybe just because I am Italian :)

    Response from Michael:

Ilaria and her parents stayed for two nights. I had very little interaction with them as they had a very busy itinerary during their short stay. It would have been nice to have a cup of coffee with them at one of the cafes just steps from house, where they also sell coffee beans that they will grind for use in the coffee maker that sits atop the counter in the apartment, if preferred. The space was left clean and in order and I would welcome she and her family back any time. :-)

  • Michael and Katrina were incredible hosts. They were extremely helpful and had great suggestions for restaurants and wine stores. The apartment was absolutely gorgeous and it truly made our visit to Brooklyn. Thanks for your hospitality and making my first airbnb experience fantastic.

  • Cozy, comfy and quiet apartement with a view
This apartment on the 2nd floor suites perfect for a couple/family. There are no doors so far between the rooms, this might result in a lack of privacy for two couples (but one can come in or leave by the hallway without disturbing anyone!).
Your host Michael and his wife Regina really take care of everything. We rented the apartment for a kind of a family reunion and we felt welcomed and safe all the time! During night time we slept very well, it's quiet and there is no heavy traffic around. WiFi works very well.
The address is perfectly located between two metro-stations (A and C trains, 5 to 10 mins walking) for JFK airport or downtown (35 mins to Times Square). A supermarket (open 8 to 8/sundays 8 to 7) just around the corner, small groceries all over the corners, laundry (Laundromat Fulton Street, 5 mins) offers drop-off/pick-up service for reasonable price. To dine out, you have the Peaches Restaurant another few minutes to walk.
To cut the long story short:
    > The apartment is like on the pictures
    > If coming for another holiday, we will try to stay with Michael again
    > And the best: you can see the Empire State Building from the living room (at least the top section)!

    Response from Michael:

Adrian and his family were friendly, warm bunch and they were very quiet when moving about in the space, considering their group size. I attribute the open floor plan that allows for ease of movement sans doors that close off the bedrooms and heavy window coverings that block out the natural light that fills the apartment, albeit, providing a way for guests to move about the space quietly without constraint. They left the space very clean and my family and I would be happy to host them again. "In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision", Dalai Lama

  • Excellent!

The flat was just as described and very cozy indeed! Michael is a easy going fella, with a few tips for dining etc.

  • My second visit to New York so was keen to experience it how the people that live there do and this was a great opportunity to do that.

The flat was gorgeous, just really homely, comfy, we were only really there to shower and sleep but it still felt wonderful.

The area was lovely, some amazing houses, some great places to eat, plenty of public transport.

Michael was a delight, very warming, very helpful, shame we didn't get chance to take him for a drink or food as a thank you, we were so busy (mainly shopping as my girlfriend decided that's why we were there!) with everything.

Just up the road in a cab was Williamsburg, very trendy, good for thrift stores, eating, drinks etc.

Overall a wonderful stay. So thank you.

Oh and the dog, love the dog, possibly the most quiet, polite dog I have met!

    Response from Michael:

Paul was a delight to host. He and his girlfriend had a pretty heavy itinerary and explored Brooklyn and Manhattan like true New Yorkers. I say this because, when I made suggestions on how to get around, they seemed to already have had that covered. They left the apartment immaculate. I look forward to welcoming them back and when that happens, drinks are on me. Cheers!

  • Michael is a very considerate host. He contacted me well before my trip to give me subway direction to his apartment. He also gave me his wife's cell phone number because he was at work the day my mom and I arrived. We were welcomed by Michael's wife, who is very very nice and informative. She told me a lot about the places we were about to explore.

The apartment is just we needed---a complete kitchen, two bedrooms, private bathroom and a comfortable living and dining area. The room is very clean and warm (we were in NYC in its coldest season). It is also very close to the subway station---just about 5 minutes' walking distance and there are lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

I would strongly recommend Michael's apartment and definitely re-order this apartment next time I visit NYC.

    Response from Michael:

Li is a very peaceful, kind and warm person. I had the pleasure of hosting he and his mother who was equally as kind and warm. Both Li and his mother literally ‘weathered the storm’- their first snow storm in NY, with a smile. I enjoyed hosting them and can’t wait to welcome them back. They left the apartment immaculate… very clean.I wish them many more smiles and kind hearts along their journeys to new places.

  • Michael was a great host to our group during our trip to Mew York. He was always interested to know what we were doing and quick to give us tips. The place was just as advertised, with not much needed to be asked for. On our next trip back, we are going to stay at Michaels place again.

  • Michael's top-floor suite in this historic Brooklyn brownstone is perfect for a small group. We very much enjoyed the warm, inviting space, including the well appointed decor, comfy beds & cute kitchen. Michael & family were very helpful & accommodating to our schedule and provided some good recommendations for nearby dining. The one thing to be aware of is that the bedrooms do not have doors; a privacy consideration if you are traveling with a group.

    Response from Michael:

Tazeen and friends were a joy to host. They were out and about for most of their stay and maybe did not remember that there is the option of two doors providing privacy in both rooms. The open floor plan sans bedroom doors features the two bedrooms on opposite sides of the space, providing ample space and doing away with the need to pass through either bedroom with the double entry to the bathroom. We welcome back Tazeen and friends back anytime.

  • Michael and his family were very attentive hosts. They even let us check-in early on the day of our arrival, and then took us out for breakfast to a restaurant a block away called Peaches... a must if you're looking for a hearty meal. Michael also had great recommendations of places and restaurants nearby and in Manhattan. He was also quick to address a minor issue we had with the tub. The actual home/apt was very spacious and comfortable for our group of four. The neighborhood was very calm and quite, and we felt quite comfortable roaming around. It's also conveniently close to the subway station... about a 5 min walk. Overall, we had a great time staying with Michael and look forward to our next opportunity to visit!

    Response from Michael:

Although Juan and his family were busy enjoying NY for most of their stay, I enjoyed our chats in passing; also, as soon as I they were able to understand that the shower/bath lever opens and closes to have the option of either or, the mystery or issue of the bath was solved. They left the apartment clean and were all around a delight to host. I welcome their return stay, anytime.

I own several brownstones in Bedford Stuyvesant I love restoring these rare and beautiful works of art. My family and I live in the property. I Love Bedford-Stuyvesant for the many brownstones (each one unique in its own way) and the diverse community of people, but don't just take my word for it, come and see for yourself... you will be happy you did.
