The Space

Welcome to our two room Berlin style apartment! The apartment is 54 SQ and located in the heart of Berlin: in the fascinating district Wedding/Mitte. The neighberhood reminds you of the famous pulsing Kreuzberg within the 80ies. Turkish stores, shishabars and moviecenters as well as modern artgaleries and innovative offtheaters are shaping the atmosphere of this district. Students, artists, old- and newberliners are creating that dynamic and unique berlin vibe.
Your daily choice of meal gets to a fascinating experience on its own. Within that neighboorhood you have the offer of every kind of restaurant (from vegan to ethiopian food) to very affordable prices. Supermarkets and so called Spätis (small shops for grocery and things for everyday life usually open 24/7) are also allover nearby.
Trainline 6 is reachable per feet in five minutes. The subway brings you directly within 10 min. to the historical center of Berlin (Friedrichstr.). Busses are also stopping in front of the apartment. They will take you to Hauptbahnhof within 5 minutes or to Tegel airport within 15 minutes.
The apartment got renovated and furnished a few months ago. The apartment is typical for the turn of the century architecture: high ceilings, big rooms and a nice wooden floors. The apartment appears very bright and spacious. The apartment is located in a rear house. You will have a view on the nice and clean garden and won't hear any noise from the street.
The atmosphere of the living room is calm and invites you to a relaxing gathering at the same time. At least three people can sit on the comfortable sofa bed and either watch a movie on the flatscreen TV or have fun with one of the games. On top of this the living room is equipped with a complete bar which will give you lots of other opportunities for sure...
The kitchen is spacious and has a cosy sitting area for at least four people. We tried to equipped the kitchen very thoroughly so that you won't miss anything.
The bedroom offers a king size bed which is, as well as the mattrasse, brand new.
The bathroom is very modern and does have a brand new shower, a big sink and for sure a toilet.

  • Monica met us at the central station and was very helpful. The area of the apartment was multi cultural and very good transport connections. Very safe area and comfortable apartment.

  • Ben's place in Berlin was great! Super clean, nice furniture and apartment, and in a good location. Our only complaint was that the wifi wasn't working properly, which we had been counting on to help us research what we wanted to see & do in Berlin. The shower head in the bathroom wasn't secured properly either, which made showering a bit awkward. Otherwise - a brilliant place!

  • Overall good experience. Good communication, nice&clean apartment just next to the metro station.

  • overall, the apartment is nice, cozy and very close to the U6. we had a great stay and enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen.

I think the ad should mention that the apartment is at the 4th floor and there is no elevator.

One disadvantage is the courtyard leading to the apartment. There is no light and when we came back after sunset it was very dark and unpleasant.

  • The apartment was roomy and bright. The bathroom was a little tricky but all in all it was a good stay. We had a nice kitchen for the four of us to eat breakfast together and get all our laundry done. Super convenient. There's a great place to eat on the same street a couple blocks north of the apartment (away from the Main Street). Kaiser's on mullerstrasse was a great health conscious supermarket to get everything you need. The subway is only a half block away!!!

  • Would certainly stay here again or at another apartment with this landlord. It met our needs, and the landlord was available quickly to remedy a small problem with the internet. Once you're downstairs, the Seestrasse Metro stop is one minute's walk, and in 15-20 minutes you're at Friedrichstrasse, right in the middle of Berlin's Mitte (middle).

Within a five minute walk of the apartment are a dozen inexpensive restaurants, ATMs, groceries and greengrocers, a few delicious bakeries, a druggist, and probably more that we didn't use.

The apartment was a mix of new and old. It's right near a busy street, but it's in the back so it was always quiet. It's an old place that has been partially redone. Doors and floors look their age, but I'm looking for convenience, not elegance. Kitchen has a brand new gas stovetop, washing machine, mini-fridge, microwave. Dishes and cutlery are adequate. It's big enough for two or three to eat, but is "cozy," meaning small. Bedroom had a comfortable bed and relatively new mattress. Living room had lots of space, and a big screen TV if you want it. (We didn't.) The apartment was clean. Bathroom could use some work: it's tight, with old fixtures, exactly what you see in the photo, and needs an upgrade, but everything worked.

Other than the tiny bathroom, the only other disadvantage I found is that the apartment was four floors upstairs, which is a hike after a long day of touring. I don't remember if that was in the listing, but the landlord told me when I asked, so I knew this before I booked.

In summary, a good experience, a fair price, a helpful landlord, a great location.

  • Ben's flat looked like on pictures so there were no suprises. Flat was in back-yard house so it is nice to stay there and be shielded from the street noise.
Communication with Ben is fast and clear even though there was wrong communication about floor in which flat is.
