About This Listing
Chambre Paris is a lovely, light room on the first floor of our 16th century home. It comfortably fits two adults and one child.
The Romans knew it long before we did. Life is good in what we now call the Nievre (south west Burgundy). In between Loire and Allier, at the centre of an old village, opposite an 11th century church, you’ll find Le Relais de Chasse (16th / 18th century).
Four spacious and luxurious bedrooms with well equipped en suite bathrooms are available within its walls. Outside the Relais you can enjoy our 10.000 m2 of garden/park. And beyond that you can experience all the great things the Nievre has to offer. In the vicinity of the Relais you’ll not only find historic cities & sites and overwhelming nature but also a number of –quiet- golf courses and the Formula-1 circuit of Magny Cours.
Le Relais de Chasse is situated in between the historic cities of Nevers (Nievre) and Moulins (Allier) -approximately 230 km south/east of Paris- and can be easily reached by the N7 motorway. Both cities offer a wide variety of shops, restaurants, bars en historic sites and are within a 30 minute reach. The N7 continues south which makes our place also very suitable for those of you travelling to the south of France and/or Spain and looking for a place to stay overnight.
The area is home to extensive old forests, combined with sloping scenery, rivers and canals; peace and quiet everywhere! Once home to the Bourbon-family you'll also find many convents, cathedrals, abby's and castles. And, lets not forget the wine and food for which the area is famous worldwide.
Apart from all this there is plenty more to keep you occupied. Go play a round of golf; go hiking or biking; visit one of the beautiful gardens near by; go tasting wine; explore the Allier-river by canoe; go fishing or horse back riding or....take a book and relax in our garden. You could even go and visit Paris for a day; the train form Nevers will bring you to the centre of Paris within 2 hours.
We had a great stay at the B&B! It's a nice place with a large garden for the kids to play, and plenty of privacy if needed. Diana & Annelot are excellent host and catered for our every need (not to mention those of our 3 v demanding children) We will definitely go back (and not just to pick up the football we left behind ;))
What a gem of a find! We were looking for accomodation near the Circuit de Magny-Cours and decided to try our luck on the Relais de Chasse. The village of Chantenay-Saint-Imbert is tiny and quiet, but we were met at the door by Diana and shown to our rooms. Diana was very accomodating as we were late from traffic problems, and she had dinner ready for us on arrival. The place is beautiful, a real memory to see the kids playing in the court yard. Rooms were lovely and the cooked dinners and breakfasts were fantastic. Diana & Ana were great hosts at dinner and really added to the experience. Will definately stay here again next time we are in the region.
We arrived at Le Relais de Chasse tired & unwell, our hostess Diana had prepared a delicious meal for us which was very much appreciated. Diana helped out in so many ways including calling a doctor & making an appointment for us. It was a much needed break & stay. We also enjoyed visiting Moulins, Bourges, Nievers, chateau Meillant in the area. Highly recommended.
We stayed three nights at le Relais de Chasse in "Chambre Paris", which was a lovely and charming room with its own little fireplace. The beds were confy and the bathroom was clean. Diana and Annelot were great hosts and they made us feel very welcome. Every morning they'd prepare a delicious and fresh breakfast in the building nearby. The village is a tiny but calm place and the surrounding area offers a lot to explore with its cities and beautiful landscape - excellent for a short, relaxing holiday! We would absolutely recommend a stay at le Relais!
We had a blissful sty at Se Relais de chassie. Dianne and Annalot were wonderful hosts, so easy to talk with and the breakfast and the dinner they prepared was wonderful. We wish we had more time to enjoy the great ambience of the house and the gardens. Great people and great place.

About the Host, Diana
Moved from The Hague (the Netherlands) to the lovely village of Chantenay Saint Imbert some ten years ago to run a so called chambres and table d'hôtes with an ex-colleague.
We, our pets (1 dog & 1 cat) and our guests have been enjoying this wonderful old hunting lodge (16th century) with its extensive garden ever since. Life here is tranquil, the people are kind and the surroundings are great if you like exploring old villages, hiking & biking, playing a round of golf, horseback riding, having a pick nick at the shores of the Loire or Allier river, etc. etc. And of course, Burgundy is the place to be for food and wine.
