The Space

Welcome to your home in Istanbul, a beautifully decorated, comfortable home, where you can call home right in the centre of Istanbul. The flat is located seven minutes away from both Taksim Square and Kabatas. Come and enjoy this stylish and artistically decorated home and it's convenient location.

LOCATION: The apartment is situated in the heart of Istanbul, in between Taksim Square, Cihangir, and Tunel in Galata, as well as Karakoy, where you may find many trendy bistros, bars, art galleries, shops as well as eateries of all kinds, clubs, and museums in this relaxed, bohemian lifestyle district. It is a safe neighbourhood, close to Istiklal Street, Golden Horn and touristic sights such as the Historical Peninsula (Sultanahmet region), the Mosques and Hagia Sofia and other historic landmarks. The flat is located close to all means of transportation... trains, trams, buses, and sea transportation (islands), we are only a few steps from the Findikli Tram station and Kabatas Ferry pier! You will be provided with a key ticket (Akbil) to use on trams, trains, busses and ferries. You may add money on to it right across the Findikli tram station.

There is Wi-Fi connection all throughout the apartment with unlimited usage of broadband internet and reliable, fast, strong signal. The apartment has an internal security alarm system.

The flat is an hour away from both airports. There are shuttle buses from both airports that leave and drop off only 10 minutes walking distance from the flat. A ride costs 10TL - 12 TL per person. One could also take local transport to Findikli tram station.

Check-in and check-out times are flexible enabling, early or late key deliveries.

THE FLAT: It's a large space with nice details that gets loads of sunlight. The flat is furnished with modern and antique furniture. There is a little garden with greens and trees right outside the flat. The flat is on the entrance level of the building, yet both the living room and the bedroom is one floor higher than the street level. No need to take the stairs or the elevator.

The bathroom has a full tub (there is a shower head in the tub for taking showers), and hair dryer. There will also be toiletries for your use such as soap and shampoo.

The kitchen is equipped with all the amenities: pans, utensils, cups, glasses etc. toaster, kettle, juice maker, dishwasher, oven/cooker, fridge/freezer. There is a washing machine, iron and ironing board. You will be provided with unlimited replenishment of drinking bottled water, detergents for both the washer and the dishwasher as well as tea, sugar, coffee, and all cooking condiments for your stay.

YOUR ROOM: is behind the white libraries with two sliding doors that separate the room from the living room for your privacy. The room has a queen size bed (170 cm X 210 cm). There (email hidden) (air conditioning) in the room, and an antique closet with mirrors inside. Your room will be ready with clean linens and towels for your arrival. Little gifts will be waiting for you, the famous evil eye from Turkey, to keep the evil away and good luck around you.

Once your booking goes through, I'll send you an updated list of tips and things to do in the city which includes list of restaurants, bars/clubs, stores, museums, galleries, Turkish baths and much more...

Come and enjoy this wonderful city through a locals point of view, living in a flat which you can call home.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to all common areas, the bathroom with shampoo, soap and towels, the kitchen with all amenities, and the living room as well as their private room. Clean linens will be provided.

Interaction with Guests

Once your booking goes through, I will send a long list of tips and things to do in the city with links to sites and maps. This should give a good idea of the city from a locals point of view. I will be happy to answer any questions and help out as much as possible when guests are here. It has not happened too often but there have been times when my guests and I have gone out for dinner, had a drink or ate at home together.

The Neighborhood

The apartment building is bordering two neighbourhoods, Cihangir and Gumussuyu, where most artists, intellectuals and foreigners live. The neighbourhood is very safe. It's possible to walk back home, even for a woman, in the middle of the night.

Getting around

Other Things to Note

There are two rooms in the flat for guests, thus you may be sharing common areas with one guest or two others.

There is a third room, a little showroom for my new business Chouchette, a wood block printed and hand made accessories brand. I may occasionally enter the flat, mostly during the day when you will be out discovering the city.

  • Beautiful apartment and the location is fantastic for anyone who wants to experience Istanbul as a someone who lives there does. Great cafes and restaurants in walking distance. It is also close to all tourist areas. If you're a woman, bring your flats as there are lots of hills!!

  • Dev is a very lovely, very well organized person, she is so charming! Everything was like on the picture. Dev has put together a great list of recommendations of places to eat and things to do in Istanbul. We tried several of the places on this list and it made our time in Istanbul really lovely. You can reach all the sights very quick.
The appartement is pretty clean and cosy, the bed comfortable. If you open the windows it can be noisy - but don't forget you're in a big city :-)
It can be busy at dev's place, 'cause she has frequently guests. Although you can meet new pe-ople and have nice chats.
We would happily stay at her place again and highly recommend it!

  • It was our very first time trying out Airbnb. It couldn't have been more perfect! Dev is very friendly and we felt right at home. She's very organized and gave us loads of great tips from transportation to restaurants. Her flat is well positioned and we could reach easily lots of "must see" places. If we visit Istanbul again, we would definitely go back to her place.

  • Dev's place was a beautiful, comfortable, artistic space. The location was absolutely ideal for what we were looking for, close to transit and great restaurants. Dev helped us figure out where to eat and go out dancing. The house was clean and the bed comfortable. I would certainly recommend this place!

Our stay of nine day was very pleasant. Dev is helpful and friendly, she knows the city, and gives good tips and advices. The apartment is very clean, and well located for all sorts of public traffic. It is calm, when the windows are closed, everything is as described. The bed is comfortable. We can really recommend to stay here.

  • Dev's flat is exactly as shown in the pictures. It's cool and artsy, well located (5-10 minutes from Taksim Square, and 5 minutes to the tram/Metro/ferry) and very clean. Dev herself was a wonderful hostess. Lovely and personable and incredibly helpful. My friend and I had a fantastic stay and only wish it could have been longer.

  • Many thanks to Dev for her lovely apartment and her kindness. My wife and I spent nearly 6 days in this beautiful room. We felt like staying home. All the facility is good and the environment is really cozy. And it is only 5 mins walk from the Bosphorus strait.

The cat Shu Shu played with us every night! And Dev provided a lot of useful information which helps us a lot while we were roaming in the City. I'd like to offer some tips for the fellow who is going to stay in Dev's apartment:

    1. Try out some restaurants from Dev's recommendation. We have tried 3 restaurants, all of them are really tasty and good.
    2. Remember to brush Shu Shu with the brush, that will be the fast est way to make her/him to like you.

We definitely will recommend our friends to stay Dev's apartment when they visit Istanbul.
