The pub is a mere two minute walk away from the bustling Brick Lane, a hive of cafe’s and restaurants, the street hosts the most amazing markets and food stalls on a Sunday. We are directly opposite Petticoat Lane Market and less than a five minute walk from the famous Spitalfields Market (the best antique market every Thursday!), as well as walking distance from many lovely shops, restaurants and bars.
We are based a mere 15 minute underground or bus journey from most Central London landmarks, museums and art galleries. Our staff are always more than happy to offer as much information as possible to ensure that you have a happy stay with us and to allow you to see the very best that London has to offer.

The famous Swing Patrol (swingpatrol co uk) organizes dance lessons in our function room on the level below the room on Tuesday (Swing Dancing) and Wednesday (Blues) so you may hear some nice music until 10.30pm and are welcome to come down to show off your best moves!
We also occasionally have parties in the function room until 2am on some weekends but will always let you know in advance so you know there may be a bit of music in the first part of the night.

The location was great: underground at just 1 minute walking and the area was nice!
The room and the common area were kind of dirty and old, they absolutely need a renovation!
Still ok for a weekend.

We enjoyed our stay and everything was well taken care off. The instructions about check in were very clear and the guy from the pub was very helpful.
Overall, this is a good place to stay. Firstly, it is in a great location, with loads to do in the immediate vicinity, close to public transport or walking distance to parts of central London and in the heart of the inner East. What better location than staying over a pub! The room was just that: a comfy (albeit a little small) bed and place to stash your belongings. Three little hindrances: patchy wifi, busy bathroom, noisy street. But all of these not anything to dampen your time. I would recommend staying here for a short stay in London.
Location is great, the room is really cold but we had some heaters what helped a lot. Also the bathroom is old and could get a fix up.
In terms of location this accommodation was excellent - walking distance to many well known London landmarks.
The room itself was very clean and affordable, especially for central London. On the other hand, the toilet flush did not function properly (and according to reviews, it is not a new issue). The toilet seat flopped around. We had to request toilet paper and soap, which was quickly provided.
On arrival, it was made clear that breakfast would not be provided, however, no milk for tea or coffee was provided either. The photos of the roof were not an accurate representation of the current scenario - it was a shambles.
The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. With just a little effort and expense the experience of the bathroom could be significantly enhanced.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to stay in London and it turned out that Nico's place was the perfect location. Since we had visited London during the winter time ( Christmas/New Years) , the weather was quite cold and rainy. The central heating did not work and there was only cold water. The toilet did not really flush either. However, one of the staff member was really helpful in getting us settle in and provide extra heaters. The room was nice and cozy as well as clean since the maid came into the room to clean around 1pm everyday. The location was perfect for us because it was a 2 min walk from East Aldgate underground and convenient for us to walk to Brick Lane and Old spielafield market. Overall, the stay at Nico's place was wonderful and he was really great at communicating back with us before the trip.
Nico was a good host - promptly responded to emails and addressed concerns that we had as soon as was possible. It was a shame that we did not get to meet him. The staff in the Princess Alice were also lovely and very helpful.
Unfortunately the accommodation left a little to be desired. There is a shared bathroom between four rooms which had quite questionable cleanliness - the toilet does not flush properly and the shower is not on a continuous hot water system which was quite unpleasant especially in the London winter.
The room was comfortable enough in terms of amenities, however was freezing cold. Two electric heaters were provided and made very little difference. A third was provided upon request but we could not even use it as it proceeded to short out the power to the room. At this point we gave up and decided to wear many layers rather than attempting to heat the room.
There is no working central heating in the building. The laundry was absolutely awful - mould all over the walls and roof, clutter all over the floor and the dryer does not work properly.
The price is reasonable, and the location is fantastic, very close to the station and Brick Lane, but the building is in serious need of refurbishment so please be mindful of this if you are planning to book.
This flat was wonderful! Nico was very helpful especially over the busy holiday. Great location and such a lovely weekend.
