Experience NYC the way it should be! A cozy bedroom with a full bed, dresser, and closet in a 2 bedroom apt with a kitchen living room and bathroom. You will have your own private room with a door. The bathroom living room and kitchen you will share as this is our actual home. We are flexible and can typically get anyone settled in during odd hours or a last minute reservation. Also we are happy to answer any questions you have about NYC, the hood or about the place in general. If you are looking for ideas about cool stuff to do we got you covered on that as well.
We are conveniently located in the heart of Chelsea on 8th ave and W 21 st we have easy access to bars, restaurants, subway lines A,C,E,F,1,2,L, and path trains. You can get pretty much anywhere you want to be within Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens within 30 minutes or less. Plus the immediate neighborhood is gorgeous and is the way to experience NYC. Our actual apt is super quiet. We are on the 5th floor of a walk-up and tucked in the back of the building so we don't hear much up here. Which is nice after you've been out in a NYC day. We have a ton of good restaurants close by, with just about any cuisine you could want. There are also several coffee shops and grocery stores near by, we have a very cool local bar that we like to go to and if you have time will be more than happy to take you to for a pint and a chat ;) within a couple / few blocks - The Highline, Meat Packing district, Chelsea Market, Chelsea Piers, Hudson River park, which is great for an evening stroll. We are about a 5-10 minute walk to the West Village which is exceptional people watching! For those that enjoy cooking I have a pretty well stocked pantry, with lots of spices and condiments that you are welcome to use.

Amazing location, clean and cozy space, friendly hosts---what else could you ask for?
Dee & Josh were awesome! They helped me figure out a great place to eat when I arrived and their comfortable bed was exactly what I needed after a long day of work. I hope to stay with them again next time I am in the city.
Great Chelsea neighborhood location. Super access to subway and bus. Bright sunny room with windows that open.
Great location and a cosy room. Dee and Josh are great hosts. The flat is 5 flights up a pre-war building and Josh was very kind to not just let me leave my bags the previous day but also helped me carry them upstairs. I was leaving next morning at 5am to catch my flight and happened to bump into Dee and Josh at the stairs on their way back from a party. Even then Josh very kindly helped me downstairs to the taxi. Thank you both!
Dee and Josh were friendly, accommodating, relaxed, and full of great advice about what to do in NYC. The room was clean, cosy, and comfortable with a great view from the window at night. V. quiet too, as the apartment is up a good few flights of stairs. Location great - a really interesting area, and v. near the E train; even on foot I could get to all sorts of places. I came to NYC mostly for work, leaving early and coming back latish, but Dee and Josh were cool with that. Recommended, most definitely.
Big thanks guys!
I loved this room in Chelsea; at Dee and Josh's home. It was perfect for me. The stairs are good exercise. The parking is not really available during the week in the day time up until 4pm as there is a public school nearby thus they have to close off that block of the street while the children are playing in the area. The people that oversee the parking on that block will open up the street to allow parking at about 3:30 pm yet really there is not supposed to be any parking there until 4pm, thus once you get to park you have to wait in your car until 4pm before you leave it unattended. Anyway plan your parking strategy accordingly if you are going to stay at Dee and Josh's place. Also you do have to move your car from the street by 8am the next morning. I enjoyed my visit to the city very much and the room and bed was very nice. Thanks Dee and Josh!
Yes, for those that aren't familiar with NYC and their parking constraints / rules, EVERY block in Manhattan has parking restrictions, whether that's no parking at all, or standing street sweeping schedules that require you to move every other weekday. Our neighborhood is actually is one of the more flexible areas of town as far as options are concerned. Having the option on our street to park each evening and every weekend (all weekend) given the school on our block is quite the exception and something we used to take advantage often before electing to get rid of our cars (as many New Yorkers elect to do when living in the city). All said, although our neighborhood offers many more options than most parts of the city, think long and hard before you elect to try and park a car in New York wherever you may end up staying, as it will come at some expense, whether that's the time necessary to move it periodically or park in a garage. I used to use an app Primo Spot to scope out spaces throughout the city, but they are no more. Following are a list if parking app options in case you'd like to explore one that best suits your needs - (website hidden)
Had a great stay with Dee and Josh. Location was great, room was super comfy and the hosts were fantastic. Highly recommend.
Dee was great... really accommodating and helpful. A comfy bed in a quiet place was just what I needed!
Dee and Josh are welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The room is clean, albeit not large, and sheets and towels are fresh. The bed is comfortable. The bedroom window looks out onto 21st St., which means it admits ample daylight. Because the apartment is small one should be prepared to interact with the hosts comfortably. They make it easy to do so.
Be advised that travelling light is worthwhile, as to get to the apartment one has to climb four flights of narrow stairs. It's an older Chelsea block but that gives it a certain charm.
I enjoyed my stay, learned a lot about comedy programs, and was directed to an old established Irish pub a short walk away which has the feel of a local, even to having Guinness, Smithwicks, and Harp on tap as most pubs in Ireland do.
The rate is reasonable. The location easily accessible from the Subway. The Highline park is two block walk away, an ambling elevated walkway which is a real pleasure for strollers and free of all traffic but the foot variety. Chelsea Market is close also, another delight of the neighbourhood. There are lots of reasonable restaurants in the area. Of course, there is a Starbucks on virtually every block of Eighth Avenue if you are desperate for overpriced fanciful coffee.
Terrific place to stay! Close to everything, clean and quiet, and in a very charming building. I had a great stay and give this place my highest recommendation. Thank you Dee and Josh!
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
