Experience unique holidays for all seasons a traditional, independent villa in the wonderful island of Mykonos. The villa was built, always with respect towards the traditional Myconian architecture.
Specialized architects, decorators and experienced workers worked zestfully so as to create a space that offers our guests privacy, as well as the opportunity to experience relaxing holidays. This place offers a real trip back in time, with the simultaneous provision of all modern comforts.
The idea of the proprietor to create this villa is based on the necessity for ameliorating standardized tourist services. The Villa was constructed in 2003 on an estate of 300 sq, located in the beautiful area of Elia. Elia lies in the village Ano Mera, a traditional village, well known for the grill taverns .
It is situated at an altitude of 150 metres from sea level, in the eastern part of Mykonos island . The advantage of this location is that the most well known beaches of Mykonos are less than 2 km of the house. The amazing beach of Elia is only 300 m from the house The city and the port of Mykonos are less than 7.5 km from the villa.
The villa consists of three double-bed bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Sitting room with a corner double sofa bed.
Dining room, kitchen fully equipped.
The house cleaning, as well as the air-conditioning are included in the price.
Moreover, breakfast can be served upon request.
For the aforementioned services, there is an extra charge.
Fully furnished kitchen(4 hotplates and big Furnace) for use by our guests: washing machine , big oven, absorber, electric cooker and fridge.
There are 2 TVs, hair-dryer and wi-fi internet.
The villa is appropriate for families or a company of six-eight persons.
Mykonos is part of a cluster of islands including Delos, Rhenia and some rocky islets.Since the fifties, Mykonos has always been one of the most popular tourist islands of the Mediterranean.
Chora, as the town of Mykonos is commonly known, impresses and casts its spell on the visitor from the first moment, with its beautiful position, scale and architecture. Despite the great tourist development of the island, it manages to maintain its cycladic features and traditional look, like few other towns.
Its cube-shaped, all white houses glow in the sunlight, scattered wisely and orderly in the countless labyrinthine alleys and streets with whitewashed cobbled pavements. A little further, on a low hill, the windmills, having stood for centuries, compose a picture of unparalleled beauty in combination with red domes and bell towers of the countless churches. In the harbour, a small colorful flotilla of caiques and fishing boats completes this unique picture with its vivid colors.
All in all, maintaining the form of the traditional architecture of the Cyclades on the modern buildings ensures a unique feeling of harmony to the town and interior of Mykonos. Nothing can be compared, though, to the emotion inspired by the enthralling space of ancient Delos. A real town with its streets and markets, public buildings and temples, luxurious houses and shops, cisterns, columns, mosaics.
After traveling for 8 months and using Airbnb 9 times in 5 countries, I am sad to leave my first negative review. While there is a stunning view of Elia Beach from the house, it was not enough to overcome the other issues that my family and I faced.
First, George was not easy to work with. In the weeks leading up to our stay, George (who we never met but sounds nice on the phone) was completely unresponsive and difficult to communicate with. Upon our arrival, he was much easier to reach.
The biggest issue with the house is that it is not insulated and therefore lets nature in. We had a mouse and mosquito infestation problem. Mice were all over the kitchen leaving droppings and eating our food. George sent his associate over with a mouse trap and we caught four mice in 12 hours. We had these mice and bug issues even though we left the windows and doors closed. The reason for the infestation is a hole in the wall in the living room.
Other things to note:
Kitchen is (in my opinion) not fully equipped as there is no kettle, coffee maker, or toaster.
House is a 20-25 minute drive from Mykonos town and sits on a very steep incline.
Renting a car is imperative. George helped us with this.
While we did not have a good overall experience, George generously allowed us to stay a fourth night at no charge as it was the end of his season.
My last reservation of the year in Mykonos island was a nightmare. Kathryn and her husband were the most ungrateful person I have ever met and do not forget this, big liars. The reservation was from the 8th-11th of October and since August she was contacting me almost every day and I was replying to her to every single email. Maximum delay to reply, not more than 3-4 hours which is quite reasonable. I offered because the made the last reservation of the season one extra night free of charge, a gift of 200 euros but she did not refer it to her review. I will give the exact phrase she sent when I proposed her the offer
"Thanks George for your generosity! "
The only thing that it was missing was a kettle but I had a portable stove to make coffee or to warm up water, even though my associate brought her a kettle next day but she was still unhappy. She pretended to be unhappy in order to ask for a refund and she did it on the phone not via email. She did not want to leave any evidence. Of course I did not accept it and then she threatened me with a negative review. Now I will have to file her to Airbnb. Furthermore before she arrives in Mykonos she requested to a car rental company number in order to rent a car and I gave it to her. Although, I had given her the car rental number, one day before her arrival she asked me to rent her and I did it, I arranged her 2 small cars at a total cost of 50 euros/day after significant discount I got for her. I think that I provided her the best possible personal service and she was the most difficult person I ever dealt with, she was asking things all the time but I never said no! The house is no more than 10 mins driving from the center of Mykonos, not 20-25 mins, it is less than 9 km and the road is very good. Regarding the mouse and mosquitos, I had told her to have the windows and the doors closed but she did not listen, even though when she told me about the mouse in a few hours we had trapped it after sending an exterminator and I had also devices for the mosquitos inside the house but for outside what could I do??Last but not least her husband threatened me one day that I would have to compensate him thousands of euros because the internet was not very fast for 1-2 hours and he had an important interview for a job and he could lose it. It was the first time after hundreds of guests I am facing something like that. If you do not want to have problems, threats , do not rent your property to Kathryn, she is a disaster and a big pain, maybe they are used to have free holidays, maybe they think that they deserve it, I do not know...
We had a lovely stay at George's Myconian Villa. The view was incredible and was really close to all the best beaches. George helped us with anything we needed. One thing to watch for was the insects and hot nights but none the less was lovely.
This villa was absolutely gorgeous! The house is sitting on a cliff overlooking the most beautiful beach, mountains and sunset! You have to drive up a large hill to get to the villa and although the beach is beautiful and you could stay here, if you want to get around I do suggest renting a car. The house was beautiful as well - several balconies and a large patio, could host several guests.
The only issue we had was that there were several mosquitos on the island, which we didn't expect, so keep the doors closed once the sun starts to set :D
Other than that, George was great, he was very responsive to all requests, he helped us get a ride from the ferry, rent a car, and go on a tour of Delos!
I miss it!
The property at Elia beach is pretty awesome- certainly a departure from a hotel experience in Mykonos town. A good 15-20 minute ride from the center of night life and dining, this villa is worth the trek. Set atop Elia Beach, we woke up every morning looking out to the sea from or beautiful terrace, and it was only a few minute walk down the (steep) hill to the sexy and relaxing beach. George and his team were nice and accommodating, but it would have been nice to had an extra set of towels (only given 4 towels for a whole week - 1 per person). The water pressure was fine, but hot water was scarce. The overall experience was very good, but not terribly luxurious. A few details such as extra towels, consistent hot water, and a strong wifi signal would have made the house nearly perfect. All that said, I'd stay here again for it's location and beauty!
It was a real pleasure dealing with George & his staff. I would highly recommend him if anyone thinks of traveling to Mykonos, Greece.
