The dog, the cat and David were all waiting for us to lend a warm welcome, and David (Sharon and Mitch were away at a conference) was very attentive to our needs throughout our stay. Fellow guests were also warm and friendly. The house was comfortable, with an awesome kitchen and lanai, and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Plus the fresh fruit and vegetables from the lush garden out back were a godsend. We will definitely stay there again the next time we're on the island.
Aloha Sharon and Mitch!
thanks for your friendly hospitality, we have a great and chilled time in your lovely home.

Sharon and Mitch were great hosts and the Canyon View Room was perfect for our needs. It was extremely close to Waimea Canyon so that we could get up early to hike. (Bonus: The shared bathroom we had access to has an incredible shower, which was amazing after a day of hiking). We could see the incredible night sky out our window at night and wake up to the forest of birds come alive in the early morning (actually quite an enjoyable way to wake up!). Mitch gave great advice for the hikes and there were also other guests staying there so we could ask there advice too. Mahalo Sharon and Mitch!
My daughter and I were pleased to have the use of the lovely big upstairs room with its well-organized kitchen. When it became available, Sharon kindly offered us the master suite, with two beds and the huge shower. They both offered advice on local activities- hiking, birding, sightseeing, food to us first-time visitors to Kauai. When a minor maintanence problem arose, Mitch was right there to help. We made a good choice for a "home base" from which to explore the south and west shores of Kauai. We enjoyed the breezed blowing through the screened porch and windows, the night sky, the sounds of birds (tho the roosters could'a toned town a bit) and the papayas and other fruit that Mitch brought in from the backyard. Really appreciated use of a very helpful "complete Kauai guide book" as well as other literature.
The house was very comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed the jam session and community with everyone there. I, for one, took advantage of the porch and enjoyed the sunrise each morning. Mitch and Sharon upgraded us and gave us our own bathroom, which was awesome!
They were very accommodating and hospitable and showed us around when we arrived. The house is in a very quiet area and we took advantage of watching the stars at night. Didn't need any kind of alarm clock, the roosters took care of that for us.
Mitch and Sharon are a well of information when it comes to what beaches to visit, where to hike, where to eat, what to do, where the best ice cream is, etc. We should have written it all down but we were able to find and enjoy some of the recommended places.
Our time at their home added so much joy to our vacation. It was a warm and friendly environment. If ever I return to Kauai, I would make it a point to stay with them again. My only regret is that we didn't get to go climbing with Mitch.

I have put a room in my house in airbnb and here is what I like of my guests. I am also this kind of guest.
I like a guest that wants to explore on their own. If time allows I like to hike with you. Frequently I am very busy so it is important that guests are independent and want to go and explore on their own.
A guest at my house will be self directed. I have a full time career and will not be able to show you around. However I am very social and look forward to meeting you.
Staying here will be similar to staying at a hostel in that you are self directed, make your own plans, do your own thing and clean up after yourself. The only exception is that the accommodations are nicer. My house is clean but, I do work full time so I keep my prices low and my rooms livable. If you like immaculate places where you are waited on, this is not the place for you.
