  • Simon is a great host and the loft is spotless, stylish and comfortable - exactly as depicted in the photos.
Simon went out of his way to make our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible, great communication in advance, meeting us at the bus stop, giving great recommendations for local places to eat and drink and assisting us with making reservations.
El Raval is a vibrant neighbourhood with a great choice of restaurants and bars. The loft is set back from the street behind a courtyard so is pretty quiet and peaceful, though there is some noise as you would expect in the centre of a large city. All of central Barcelona is easily accessible on foot from the loft.
I would happily recommend Simon's place to anyone visiting Barcelona.

  • Simon is a great host, way beyond our expectations. He is so kind and thoughtful, giving us the very detailed direction to the apartment as well as he wished to wait for us at the bus stop. The restaurants and bars he recommended are all superb and very close from the apartment. The apartment itself is truly spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. We had an incredible 4 nights stay at here, and the private patio was really a reward to us. We definitely come back when we trip to Barcelona again. Thank you Simon!!

  • We had a great time staying at this wonderfully spacious apartment. It's quiet, spotless, tastefully furnished and - most importantly for us two ladies coming in late at night after a few cocktails - very safe. It was a great base for (my first time) exploring the city, with the jacuzzi a perfect way to relax after miles of walking during the day. El Raval is a really interesting area, with great restaurants, bars and coffee/brunch spots, which Simon dedicated a lot of time to talking us through when we first arrived (as well as running to pick us up from the bus stop, after we made it in in record time!). Simon is the perfect host, wonderfully open and friendly, which really made our stay. Thank you - I can't recommend this place highly enough!

  • Simon is really the best host. When we arrived he was waiting for us and gave us all the instructions + a nice Cava to start our visit in a posh style.
The loft is where I'd like to live. Very modern and well equiped. Bed and shower are perfect.
Important to talk about the location: our first impression wasn't the best. Raval is a very plural neighborhood, with many pakistans and to be honest, is not that Barcelona we knew in previous visits (we stayed in Paseo de Gracia in other visits). People also call Ravalkistan. Seems a bit run down.
But luckily was just the first impression. Raval Is very close from Ramblas, you can visit many places by foot. The night scene is very vibrant with plenty of options of restaurants and small places to have a drink. In the end, the plurality of the site brought a special spice to our visit. And the most important: is very safe.
I also strongly recommend the brunch on Barcelo Raval (in the Rambla of Raval). Is only on sundays. You can start with a drink in the rooftop with a fantastic view 360° and finish with a great brunch in the restaurant for only 25 euro.

    Thanks for all Simon.

    Response from Simon:

I thank and appreciate Alex's opion.
Catalunya / Barcelona and Raval is very open and Multicutural. My Next door neighbour Rafa a graphic designer is Catalan, Another friend and neighbour Marta is a dance instructor who works with Circ de Soleil, Virgille who has a clothes design studio and shop in front is French, Ali from Pakistan who owns 4 shops on our street open from 8am until 11pm is also a good colleague ours.
The ever so wonderful Flor Falchetti of the amazing restaurant Lo de Flor is Argentine... Finally I'm mixed European English.

  • hôte agréable et super sympathique. Ils nous a renseignés et aider pour notre séjour à Barcelone. Je le recommande vivement. Le loft est grand et franchement ça vaut le coup.
5 -10 Min à pied de la ramblas.

  • Simon was a perfect and charming host who went far beyond the call of duty to meet us at the bus stop, walk us to the apartment, recommend some wonderful local restaurants (Lo de Flor, a few doors down, is NOT to be missed) AND help arrangements for a birthday surprise. The apartment is truly wonderful and in the great bustling neighbourhood of el Raval, walking distance to pretty much everywhere but enough off the beaten trail for you to see real Barna at work. We can't recommend this apartment and Simon highly enough and hope to visit again soon. Thank you Simon for your amazing hospitality.

  • The apartment is very true to the pictures with the patio garden an inviting gem. It was very quiet and comfortable.

The apartment sits nestled among wonderful restaurants, bakeries, fresh produce markets with the oldest cathedral at the end of the block. The neighborhood is multicultural that adds to the texture and vibrancy of the city.

Simon was an absolutely wonderfully helpful host in knowledge about the city, providing directions and suggests for dining which were all excellent. By mistake I left my backpack with computer at a restaurant which was closed the next day. SImon went above and beyond in helping me recover the item before I had to fly home.

They say, "An Englishman's home is his castle…"   Born in Yorkshire, I moved to Catalonia over ten years ago where I married a local and have made Barcelona my home. Our city centre apartment may not be El Castell (as they say in Catalan) but it's our pride and joy, built with love and the generous help of friends and family. Transformed from an empty shell in a modern Barcelona residence it is now a secure, fully equipped and fashionable, city centre sanctuary.  We would like to think it´s a reflection of us, perfectly nestled in the centre of the city with access to everything Barcelona has to offer, exhibitions, theatre, concerts, restaurants/bars, beaches and the splendour of the Barcelona, however once home and sat with a glass of wine in the garden completely separated from the hustle of the city you can sit back and feel relaxed . We work, entertain, relax and live at home, so space is very important to us, although this is an open plan loft it´s generously divided into 8 zones. We simply hope that you will enjoy our home as much as we do.
