The house is on the northen hills of Lucca, famous for delicious wine and wonderful extra virgin olive oil.
The house is about 11 km far from Lucca city, just half an hour from the Versilia beaches, one hour from Florence and 45 minutes from Pisa.
The house has two big double bedrooms (for 5 people in total), a bathroom, dining room with fireplace, a kitchen (just for the guests) and a beautiful terrace where is possible see a beautiful view on the city!

The house is located in a very quite village and in just few minutes walk, you can reach two typical and fantastic restaurants, a gastronomy (where you can buy food and cook in the house) and a wood oven (where is possible to buy fresh bread and warm focaccia).
It is possible to reach the house by bus and there are three/four rides per day.
Here you will find peace and the real simplicity of a holiday..just out of the tourists circuit! We will wait you!
Eleonora and Marco are compassionate, bight, Fantastic people - very helpful on many levels. The place was very clean, comfortable, and with all the charms you could want when you come to Tuscany. Location is out of the main towns, which is what I wanted and is centrally located within an hour -2 hours driving to most areas in Tuscany. Im excited to come back again when I come to Italy!! Highly recommend for those who wish to be out of of central city! Gracias Eleonora!!! :))
Excellent accommodation, I felt like I had my own private apartment with fabulous views of the valley from the kitchen/dinning room and the bedroom. I only saw Eleanor when i arrived, she was very helpful explained where everything was, where the best restaurants were etc and left me her phone number if I needed anything. Lovely bed, very comfortable and the bedroom itself was huge. The shower is very small and a larger person might have trouble fitting in it but it was fine for me. If you arrive on a Saturday afternoon the local shop will be closed till Monday so bring essentials with you such as bread and milk. I highly recommend this place, very clean, everything you need and plenty of privacy. I had a car and parking is at the local restaurant car park apparently they are ok with that. Very skinny road up to the village but I got used to it very quickly, lots of cyclists you need to watch out for. Very friendly villages, fabulous pace.
We had a wonderful stay in the village of Matraia near Lucca. The apartment was comfortable and convenient. My husband especially enjoyed getting to know the baker at the woodfired bakery almost next door. Our host was very friendly and helpful. It was great to be able to walk to the grocery, pharmacy, bakery, the two restaurants and out into the country. We would love to go back.
This place is wonderful! You get the whole appartment, Wifi works perfectlly, you can park nearby and the best part is the view from the bedroom. The drive to the appartment was a delight and the surrounding area is really worth a visit. We missed the road the first time and wander around a bit and it was actually such a pleasure :)
Eleonora is very kind, helpful and responsive and gave us some very good suggestions.
I'm sorry that we were on such a short wisit, but we would surely come back for a longer stay.
Eleonora and Marco's Forestaria is a little paradise on earth!
The apartment in Matraia is very confortable with all commodities - good bed, kitchen, bathroom and Wifi - nicely furnished with an amazing view... and at 30 minutes walking (10 min by car) from the Forestaria, where they have their olive grove...
I fell in love with this place: such a peace hanging on the mattress down the oak and contemplate the panorama!
This splendid couple of hosts really made me feel at home (even better!!!) and I'm looking forward to go back and spend good time with them. Thanks a lot, you're great!
We had a great time here! Quite a nice big apartment, plus a kitchen where you can cook (Eleonora left some pasta in the cupboard for us). Close to a bakery, a little shop and a couple of restaurants (closed on mondays).
It is located about 20 mins outside the main town, which is nice when you want to get away from the craziness of the tourists, but if you stay here you really need to have your own car.
We did a lot of driving. We did a day trip to Florence and also discovered the beautiful town of Lucca!
Eleonora was a great host, very easy to communicate with and met us at the apartment at the time we arranged.
Wifi worked perfectly, having a kitchen was a bonus. The bathroom is a bit awkward to get to (although it is private, the access is through a shared space through a neighbouring apartment).
Would love to stay longer next time as there were some stunning Villa's we would have loved to explore in the area!
Eleonora´s house is "No Problem" place. Easy to find, on main road, house numbers go in line one after another. We had all appartment with big full equiped kitchen+ dinning room. Eleonora gave us the key, answered all our questions and left us alone, We had absolute privacy. Free parking is near the house. Strong Wi-Fi internet router is in the appartment and no password needed, we connected easily. When you lay in the bed and look at the view, you will feel like you float in the clouds!
Words cannot describe the feeling I have towards this place. It is not just a room - it's a mini apartment! A queen bed with the most delightful windows that lead to a view down to Lucca, another room with a day bed, a kitchen & a dining room. Self sufficient but there are 2 restaurants in the town & 2 in the town 1.5kms away. There are beautiful walking tracks everywhere & the air is so clear. There is a bakery downstairs & a little supermarket with everything you need not far away. The people in the town are so welcoming & lovely & the family upstairs gave me a piece of cake for one of their birthdays
I find this difficult to review. The place was as described but very difficult for me to find and I got lost a few times getting their the first time and then again coming back in the evening. It has the most stunning views
I had a difficult time as I was very tired from driving and was shown the oven three times when I really wanted to wash up and take the dog out
I asked if the WiFi worked even though it said it did in the advertisement because I needed it for work. I was also worried about the dog getting ill, he got very ill later with an ear infection.Eleanor said she was nearby if I needed any help. I went to Lucca to look for a vet but no luck
When I got back the WiFi was not working so I texted Eleanor and waited for 30 mins so I left to find an internet cafe to find a vet
The next morning I had hardly slept I was so worried and just had to leave to find a vet urgently
I feel really mean as in all other respects this was a lovely place but I find it hard when someone says there is WiFi and there is not
Thank you for your review Sabrina! I am very sorry that you lost few times for reach the house, but a call to me maybe can helped you without wasting time. A lot of our guests said the same thing: the view is amazing! We just live on the fantastic and famous Lucca hills and the sunset, the olive grove, the vineyard and the lanscape around is so magical. I'm also sorry that you were not been able to connect to wifi, it worked great and when you send me a text message (11 pm) I was sleeping, because I am a farmer and I wake up quite early in the morning. Maybe it would be better, when you go in a house and you really need the internet connection for work, if you check before! I am so sorry for your dog, but you didn't tell me nothing that he was ill and if it was really important, there is a restaurant very close to the house for a call and an urgent help (they are open usually till 1 am). I am so sorry because when I tried to explain all the things in the house, you just walked very fast around the rooms without any attention. Anyway, I wish all the best for you and your dog and good luck for everything. Ciao!
Worth it for the drive alone: amazing views of the Tuscan countrside.
Also a lovely house, good kitchen (stove wasn't working but hobs were) and a lovely restaurant down the road in the village so you can just relax after you arrive and enjoy Tuscany. Close to Lucca to.
