The Space

We really are right in the middle of it all. There is something for everyone. We are walking distance from Minute Maid Park, BBVA Compass Stadium, Discovery Green, the Toyota Center, George R Brown Convention Center, House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe, the Bayou Center, Sundance Cinema, Jones Hall, Wortham Center, Alley Theatre, Main Street, Last Concert Cafe, and numerous dining and bar experiences from late nights, fine, and dives. The Metro Light Rail (a 5 minute walk) can take you into the heart of the Museum District, Hermann Park, Reliant Stadium and other nooks and crannies along the way. We also have bikes for our guests to use on the scenic paved bike trails along the bayous, through the colleges (UH, TSU, Rice), into River Oaks, Memorial Park, and the Heights. Leave your car parked and enjoy Houston as if you lived here.

Guest Access

Guests have a private room of their own. The common area has a 56" TV, Xbox360, Netflix, Blu Ray 3D, 5.0 surround. The Kitchen is full service with an oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans. We have a washer and dryer in the unit. The studio, which is also available for use, has music and recording equipment, costumes, a piano, another TV and surround sound stereo. We also have bikes for our guests to use.

Interaction with Guests

We are a wealth of information. She worked for the Convention and Visitors Bureau, now works for the Museum District Association. He runs a local arts promotion organization with his fingers in all forms of expression (poetry, music, art, and theatre). We are willing to take you on an adventure or leave you to your own devices. You can always ask questions and we will steer you in the right direction.

  • Good vibrations:-) I was looking for a more homey feeling while traveling for work after staying in hotels. Dave & Laurette helped with the great location & hospitality. Thanks guys...

  • My time with Laurette and Dave was my most favorite Airbnb experience. Not only was their loft clean, welcoming, and fun, but they were the ultimate hosts. When I arrived I was met by two fantastic felines. My room was all set up with towels and Laurette even left some water in my room for when I came back from a wedding. I particularly enjoyed the fun room and almost decided to set up camp in there! I loved spending time with Dave and Laurette and learning about them and their lives over beer then breakfast. They were so helpful. They let me borrow their bikes and gave me directions to a local (AMAZING) restaurant and gave me a heads up about a festival in town. You COULD NOT have a more amazing experience than with these two (four including radio and pigeon). I can't wait to go back and visit.

  • Loved the loft! Great location, easy access to the interstate and downtown Houston. Dave and Laurette were wonderful hosts. I immediately felt like I'd known them my whole life. Would definitely stay there again given the chance!

  • Great stay. The loft was very clean, and it's a very unique place they have. Dave and Laurette are really nice and friendly, and I appreciated being able to get the local scoop on where to go and what to do. Can't recommend them enough!

  • Had a great trip to Houston thanks to Dave and Laurette. The loft was a perfect location, just a short walk from Minute Maid Park, and Laurette had some great suggestions on what exhibits we must see. Looking forward to our next visit to Houston.

  • We had a great time at Dave and Laurette's. They were great at communicating about how to find their place and get in, and we made ourselves at home quickly. The space is comfy and unique, and Dave and Laurette are very sweet hosts. Without their expert guidance, we never would have found our way to the Last Concert and Super Happy Fun Land! Be sure to check out the costume room and definitely take their advice on what to see in Houston while you're there. What a great kickoff to our vacation. Thanks again!

  • We had a packed weekend in Houston and crashed with Dave & Laurette. We never formally met, but the space is even cooler than the photos. Also very clean! Definitely would stay with them again.

  • Great space, great location, and all the privacy you could ask for in a shared space. I was in Houston for a short time and needed a place downtown that was a short distance to the places I needed to be and this was a perfect spot. The lofts have great feel to them, Dave and Laurette were great hosts and my stay was enjoyable.

Admittedly, I was out early and back late, so I didn't get to spend much time with the hosts, but Laurette was helpful and accommodating and Dave kind enough to give me a ride to my meeting when the weather got down to 34 degrees and a walk would have been brutal! I had never done the shared space with AirBnB, but it was a great first step.
