Your immaculate, detached casita awaits just off the famous Turquoise Trail, just 10 minutes from the artsy town of Madrid (famous for its Christmas lights!) and an easy drive to the Santa Fe Plaza, Meow Wolf, Georgia O'Keefe and great restaurants and museums. Private entrance, spacious bedroom, separate living area with daybed, bathroom, kitchenette, and amazing views!

The space
From the large parking area, pass under a charming adobe artist's gate and walk across the quiet, flagstone-paved garden to your own private casita. Comfortable Adirondack chairs invite you to rest on the covered porch. Once inside, you'll be surprised how much space you can enjoy. The bedroom has a comfy queen bed, plenty of storage, and windows with uninterrupted views of the San Marcos plateau. Keep them open!

A separate, equally spacious living area offers a daybed that can be made up into a second, twin bed at no extra charge (let us know if you plan to use it for sleeping). The kitchenette offers a convenient fridge, microwave and everything you need to make coffee/tea in the morning.

State-of-the-art heating/air conditioning keeps the space comfortable year round, although you will want to open the windows at night to enjoy the cool high desert air. Views from the living room look northeast to the Lone Butte and Eaves Movie Ranch. Be sure to stay up and watch the stars come out!

Where you’ll be

Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States

The Turquoise Trail is a scenic drive between Santa Fe and Albuquerque that runs through historic mining towns nestled in the valleys between hills with 100-mile views.

The quaint town of Madrid, just 10 minutes down the road, offers a mile-long walk among charming shops, artist studios and casual restaurants that serve delicious New Mexican cuisine and host live music.

The unique beauty and history of Santa Fe is just 23 minutes North, with exceptional dining, shopping, museums and entertainment. Take a walk up Canyon Road on a Friday night when the art galleries host receptions for new exhibits (free refreshments!). Nibble a carnita while people-watching on the shaded Santa Fe Plaza. Explore the museums, the Cathedral, and the shops, while drinking in the almost-constant Southwest sunshine.

Expand your adventure with day trips to Bandelier National Monument, the Bradbury Science Museum at Los Alamos, and hiking or horseback riding in the Cerrillos Hills, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Abiquiu/Ghost Ranch. We can provide suggestions for a variety of activities, particularly local day hikes.

Having worked in the international development sector for many years, I am an avid traveler. I enjoy discovering new places and the people who inhabit them, exploring museums, hiking, and watching the sunset at the end of a memorable day. Of all the places in the world, I chose Santa Fe as my home, because of the amazing light, the ever-changing skies, the charming people, and the incredible food. Come and see why I believe Santa Fe is so exceptional!
