Well, what can we say... We had the most amazing time at Caroline's. The whole house is stunningly beautiful and very tidy. Everything is exactly as you can see in the pictures. Both the view from the private balcony and the rooftop terrace are incomparable. We loved to have our evening tea on either one of them and watch the sun set. The room has lots of space for your personal stuff as does the big bathroom (with an open shower, yay!). The bed is very comfortable - you will sleep like a baby, promised. The huge, magnificent kitchen is fully equipped. In the living room and the little hall on the first floor, and even in the bathrooms loads of books and magazines invite you to spend hours in leisure reading them. Caroline is an amazing host. Communication was very easy. She provided us with lots of very helpful insider information even before we arrived as well as during our whole stay. Which supermarket is the best? Where do you get the freshest vegetables? How much should a taxi ride to XY be? Where to buy really nice moroccan souvenirs? Which restaurant is a must-visit? Caroline knows! Having lived in Mirleft for about ten years, Caroline knows almost everybody and everything, as well as almost everybody knows her. She introduced us to a couple of her friends which made us feel even more welcome. Whenever we went out with her it was obvious that she is an appreciated part of the Mirleft community. Mirleft itself is lovely. With its beautiful beaches, its warm and friendly people, the great food (you definitely have to have some fresh fish!) and the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere it is a gorgeous place to get yourself some rest. But if you're more in for some action, don't worry, there's all kinds of things like surfing, paragliding, diving, horseback riding, hiking etc. awaiting you. - Allow me to warn you though: We initially wanted to do all of this but the tranquility and the rumbling of the sea took possession of us and made us taking it a lot easier. A typical Mirleft-phenomenon as it seems... Caroline is loads of fun! We had great talks and discussions, very nice dinners and a lovely, quite adventurous afternoon at the beach. Being the well-versed journalist that she is, she has lots of fascinating stories to tell and experiences to share. Last but not least Charlie is a very gentle and most amiable dog. We enjoyed his company very much and took him to the beach a couple of times. People in the village know and especially kids love him, so if you'd like to take him for a walk he would most certainly help you make the acquaintance of some more villagers. :) I'm sure, staying with Caroline, you'll feel at home straight away, just like we did. Now we're looking back on an eventful, sublime and unforgettable time. We're missing Caroline, Charlie and Mirleft - it definitely...

If you're looking for a place to stay in Mirleft, STOP looking ! This IS the place to be. Our stay at Caroline's house was like a dream. We loved every minute of it. The house is amazing, exactly like the pictures, and has breathtaking views. Mirleft is a must see, with beautiful beaches and friendly people. You wouldn't want to go. And Caroline is an incredible host. She welcomed us with cookies and a big smile, drew us maps of Mirleft and Sidi Ifni, recommended places to eat, beaches to swim, and did so much more. Thank you for everything, we're looking forward for our next stay.

I don’t even know where to start and I can’t not have enough praise for Caroline’s house and her warm, unique, wonderful welcome. Everything was just perfect. The room is not only beautiful, big, super clean but it has the most spectacular view, looking straight into the ocean, you fall asleep and wake up with the sounds of the wild Atlantic waves. Everything is decorated with so much taste and she made us feel at home right away. I travelled quite a bit in Morocco, and the type of comfort Caroline’s house offers is truly rare, especially at this price. It has all the perks of a luxury place without any of the disadvantages. It has charm, warmth and soul. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have experienced yet, the shower is huge, her kitchen makes you want to cook feasts. I appreciated all her attention to details, she truly goes out of her way to welcome her guests. What is also priceless is her knowledge and respect of the village and her surroundings. She truly is integrated to the Berber’s way of life and could make your stay very special by showing you around and sharing her experiences. The only problem we had is that we could not stay longer and unfortunately had to shorten our trip. I am lucky to not live too far away and in Morocco so the next trip I plan, I will for sure go back to Caroline’s house. We have found our new peaceful escape, and we still have a lot to discover in this gorgeous region. Thank you, Caroline, for being you, thank you to your gentle dog Charlie for showing us the way to the coolest beach and bringing us home, we will see you very soon. We found a truly cool beautiful place and a new friend. With love Juliette and Yahia

Caroline has a lovely house, full of light and colour. It has an ideal location for exploring the coast in that area by car. The bed is very comfortable and the room looks right out over the ocean. Caroline was very friendly and helpful, and we loved Charlie the dog.

We stayed with Caroline for four nights. Caroline is the perfect host with typical British humor. The place is nice and clean and Caroline has a relaxing laid back attitude that makes you feel at home right away. We definitely agree with all the other positive things mentioned in other reviews

In 2007 I ran away to Morocco and ended up on the Atlantic coast in the Berber fishing village of Mirleft. After two months of sun, sea, fantastic food and bundles of Berber bonhomie I decided that this was where I wanted to live. So I sold my rabbit hutch in London and with the proceeds, much help from fabulous new friends, and a crash course in French and Berber I built a house by the sea.

I now live here on a pretty permanent basis with my young and very friendly rescue dog Charlie. A typical day comprises Charlie rollicking on a neighbouring beach while I’ll either be working as a freelance journalist in London (via wi-fi) or on the upkeep of the house.

After several years living on Morocco's SW coast (and from researching for travel features) I am now very knowledgeable about the region and fully integrated into the local Berber community - the latter being extremely easy to achieve just by being friendly and up for a laugh. And while my day-to-day is largely 'European' I have inevitably adopted the Berber mantra "imik, imik" ('slowly, slowly') - i.e. life is pretty relaxed.

So if you're looking for a friendly, secluded spot to snooze to the swashing of the sea both Charlie and I would be happy to have you here.
