Hob House is situated 15 minutes from the busy Nairobi City centre. This charming home is the perfect place to come for relaxation after exploring the city's busy life. Each bedroom is individually designed to European standards, Peter's wife who is very keen on interior design has decorated all bedrooms with great taste combining her varied backgrounds, plus all bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen is staffed with Kenyan cooks who are knowledgeable in European cooking as well as many African dishes.
Our guest(s) will enjoy a home away from home, with a beautiful landscaped garden for relaxation and meditation. The surrounding area provides safe and quiet walking routes for those who like nature, as well as being only ten minutes drive to Karura Forest where you can hike for 5kms or 10kms. Hob is 10 minutes drive from three major shopping centres including; The Village Market, Westgate Mall, Sarit Centre in Westlands. And opening soon, Two Rivers Mall!
Nairobi National Park is 25 minutes drive away where the guest(s) can enjoy watching the wildlife. There is mini-bus with a driver available to ensure the guests have transport at their convenience which has daily and weekly charges. We also have reliable Taxi drivers to call whenever necessary.
There is a daily laundry service (ironing and washing) with charges.
Hob House is an experience that one can never forget as you travel to East Africa. 'Hob' mean love on Arabic means and this is what we hope you will feel when you step inside the house.
Hob house owners Kelly and Peter believe in capacity building of local youth and share 20% of room rates charged to train and empower the four staff members at Hob House.

Guest(s) can have access to the kitchen and laundry facilities if they wish to do it themselves. However, the well-trained staff are on standby to make sure your stay is one of its kind and truly memorable.
Interaction with Guests
We interact with guest(s) if we feel they want to know us better or learn more about Africa in general and Kenya specifically. However, we always try our best to provide space for guest(s) privacy.
Hob house overlooks corn fields and you hear the cock crow at dawn, but we are just 15 minutes from Nairobi city centre....Giving us the best of both worlds that is city and country side!
Taxis are available all the time at varying prices, Hob House has managed to secure two very reliable taxi drivers at negotiated rates.
Other Things to Note
Hob staff are trained to look after all our guests with the idea of creating a home away from home, we are not a hotel or a guest house, we are a luxury B&B with all the touches of home.
At Hob House we don't serve alcohol, however, we don't mind guest(s) to bring their own. If guest(s) would like to have dinner, they should inform the staff in the morning, you will see from the reviews that we have an incredibly well trained cook!! Laundry is collected for washing every morning and returned the following day. If need to dry clean, it should be indicated to the staff allocated to your room and allow maximum four days. No smoking is allowed in the house.
My wife Kelly and I, live in Nairobi and have a special passion to welcome and host people from different parts of the world at our beautiful home, Hob House. We believe the world is one country and mankind its citizens. Our home is full of love and happiness, thank God to our extensive travels across the world where we have learned and interacted with many cultures. We love networking and creating new lasting friendships.
