Hob House is situated 15 minutes from the busy Nairobi centre. Hob is nestled in a quiet street with no through traffic, which also makes it very secure. This charming guest house is the perfect place to come to for relaxation after exploring the city’s shops and local parks. Every bedroom is individually designed to European standards, Peter's wife is British and has designed all the rooms in good taste combining her varied backgrounds, plus all rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen is staffed with cooks who are knowledgeable in European cooking as well as African dishes.
The guests will enjoy a home away from home, with a beautiful landscaped garden for relaxation and meditation. The surrounding area provides safe and quiet walking routes for those who like nature, as well as being only ten minutes drive to Karura Forest where you can hike for 5kms or 10kms. We are also 10 minutes drive from three major shopping centres (The Village Market, Westgate, Sarit Centre).
There are two houses in the compound one is a 5 bedroom fully self contained home which you could use as a self catered house. This price is different to the bed & breakfast price as it is the entire house. This price is 2000USD a month.
The other house is a B&B with individual pricing on the four rooms. Please feel free to ask.
Nairobi National park is 25 minutes drive away where the guests can enjoy watching the wildlife. There is mini-bus with a driver available to ensure the guests have transport at their convenience which has daily and weekly charges. We also have reliable Taxi drivers to call whenever necessary.
There is a daily laundry service (ironing and washing) with charges.
Hob House is an experience that one can never forget as they travel to this region. Hob in Arabic means love and this is what we hope you will feel when you step inside the house.
Kelly and Peter are a Kenyan/British couple who believe in capacity building for local youth and share 20% of rates charged to train and empower the four staff members working at Hob House.

Guests can have access to the kitchen and laundry facilities if they wish to do it themselves. However, the well-trained staff are on standby to make sure your stay with is one of its kind and truly memorable.
If you take the self catering division you can rent the entire 4 bedroom home, there will be cleaning services daily.
Interaction with Guests
We interact with guests if we feel they want to know us better or learn more about Afica in general and Kenya specifically. However, we always try our best to provide space for guests' privacy.
We overlook cornfields and hear the cock crow in the mornings,but we are 5 mins from central Nairobi.... Giving us the best of both worlds.
Taxis are available all the time at varying prices, Hob House has managed to secure two very good taxi operators at vastly reduced tariffs.
Other Things to Note
Our staff are trained to look after all our guests with the idea of creating a home away from home, we are not a hotel or a guest house, we are a luxury B&B with all the touches of home.
We also have on hand a trained geriatric carer for this who need to travel with elderly relatives.
No alcohol is served, however we have no problem for guests to bring their own.If the guests would like to have dinner, they should inform the staff in the morning, you will see from the reviews that we have an incredibly well trained cook!! Laundry is collected for washing every morning and returned the following day. If need to dry clean, it should be indicated to the staff allocated to your room and allow maximum four days. No smoking is allowed in the house.

Hey, my name is Peter and married to sweetheart Kelly. My wife and I, live in Nairobi and have a special passion to welcome and host people from different parts of the world at our home. We believe the world is one country and mankind its citizens. Our home is full of love and happiness, thank God to our extensive travels across the world where we have learned and interacted with many cultures. We love networking and creating new lasting friendships.
