  • I spent a wonderful week staying with Shirley and her husband Graham. The accommodation was very comfortable, spacious and well kept. Shirley and Graham looked after me so well while I was there, going above and beyond the call of duty I think.

The room and bathroom were superb, the breakfasts were wonderful and the company was outstanding. I almost felt like one of the family. I highly recommend staying with Shirley at her house.

  • Staying with Shirley and Graham in their beautiful home was an absolute treat. The accommodation itself was extremely comfortable and well kept and the views are a dream to wake up to. Above all, Shirley and Graham could not have been more accommodating and were such lovely hosts to spend time with. Breakfast every morning was a delicious feast with a perfect cup of tea and set us up for each day.
I thoroughly recommend staying here - it is indeed a charming countryside retreat.

  • Couldn't have been a more pleasurable stay.
Room was fantastic and surroundings were even better.
The place is a dairy farm, and though Shirley and Graham are semi-retired they still have one milking cow.
Their company and conversation in the evening made it far more interesting stay than being in any anonymous hotel room. We didn't bother putting the TV on.

Note on haw to get there:
satnav location is slightly out, go to the sharp bend in the road, and turn down a narrow track, the farmhouse is at the end.

  • Shirley and Graham have been wonderful hosts on the occasions I have stayed. Nothing is too much trouble and there is nothing like homemade porridge and fresh fruit in the morning! The room is lovely and big enough to have a proper desk which is handy if you need to do any work.

The house is a farmhouse and so has the character you might expect but the room and bathroom are very much modern and wonderfully finished. The location is down about a 2 mile single track road but this is accessed from a main road and as such is easy to get to and a good location for a holiday base.

  • I have now returned to Australia from my 6 weeks in England. My overnight stay with Shirley & her husband at the beginning of my trip, was very special. Shirley's incredibly warm greeting on my arrival, instantly made me feel at home. Shirley & Graham are excellent hosts; in fact they felt more like old friends by the time I departed! Thank you both for your heartfelt welcome & your concern for my comfort. Tricia

  • What lovely hosts Shirley and Graham are. They are so warm and welcoming.
We had a lovely weekend at Rodway Manor and can't recommend it highly enough.
The room was lovely with a beautiful view from the window and the bed was so comfortable- we had great night's sleep.
The bathroom is spacious with shower and bath and a a whole range of toiletries. It's shared with the second guest bedroom but it wasn't a problem. Towels were big and fluffy.
It is off the beaten track but well worth the effort to find. It's in a beautiful part of Shropshire -peace and tranquility guaranteed. Perfect for walking, cycling and sightseeing. There's lots to do in the area and Shirley and Graham are a mine of information.
We really didn't need breakfast because we were expected at our friends farm close by ( big party night before) but Shirley had made porridge for us which we couldn't resist- it was scrumptious. I had mine with fresh raspberries and my other half had maple syrup with his.
We were sorry to go and hope to go back in August.
Rodway is a gem and is definitely a charming countryside retreat.

  • You will not find a more charming, hospitable host than Shirley and her husband, nor will you have a more lovely nights sleep. I spend about 3-4 nights a week in Hotels and B&Bs, and in 2 years of travelling, this is the best place I've stayed. The bed was perfect, neither too hard or too soft. The room was nice and warm, but not stuffy, and the shower, OH MY GOD the shower. I want that shower! In the morning, I had a lovely chat with Shirley and husband over breakfast before setting off the for the day, rested and refreshed.

  • Thanks to Shirley, her husband Graham, and their family, we felt completely at home and truly well cared for in their lovely farmhouse. Shirley went out of her way to make us feel comfortable, and provided a first rate room and bathroom. These were accessed via the cosy kitchen and were private and separate from the rest of the house. We loved the wholesome breakfasts which included various cereals, muesli, fruit, a wide selection of delicious yogurts, followed by toast, jams, peanut butter, marmite, etc. Shirley was extremely accommodating about our evening meal preparation, and we were also invited to watch Tv in the lounge adjacent to the kitchen.
The countryside around the farm is wide, open, splendid, totally unspoilt, with amazing sunsets and panoramic views. It's close (email hidden) town, Newport, and not far from a whole range of interesting places, ranging from The historic town of Shrewsbury to Ironnridge and all it's museums connected to the beginnings of the industrial revolution. Our favourites were the Shropshire Hills and the Follies at Hawkstone. Shirley has tons of useful leaflets, and is herself a mine of information about the area. One day, when she had to visit Ludlow, she invited us to accompany her, and she took many detours to show us the most spectacular views and interesting villages of South
Shropshire. We highly recommend Rodway Manor, not only as a centre for touring the area, but also as a place to unwind and relax. Great any time of year ... An autumn break, a winter retreat, a summer holiday. Overall we feel very lucky to have stayed there .. . . It was the perfect launch pad for my daughter to start university at nearby Harper Adams University College.
