The 1 rule is: Please do not smoke inside the house. We have ash trays in the patio and we would be most grateful if guests will abide by this.
We are 2 brothers who live in different continents growing up (US and Australia), and we decided to move to Bali together in late 2012. Right now, we decide to see a bit of the world together, so while we are traipsing the world, we are renting out our house in Bali. As the adage goes, a friend in need is a friend indeed, and we count ourselves blessed and lucky to have our friend, Sarah, who would be helping us checking-in/out guests while we are not in Bali. Sarah speaks Indonesian, English, and Italian!
Any information left out or something else you would like to know about? Please feel free to ask and we'll happily get back to you as soon as we can!
The only rule that we have is that our guests do not smoke inside the house.
We were very pleased with our stay in this apartment. It was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of. The entire apartment was enclosed with no openings for mosquitos to get in, which we appreciated.
There's a kitchen when you first walk in the door of the apartment, and then another door (with a lock) into the bedroom with the bathroom attached to the bedroom. The bedroom is the only room with air conditioning, so the kitchen and bathroom can get warm, but that didn't bother us much. The shower had hot water (which wasn't the case everywhere we stayed). Free drinking water is provided, which was very helpful. There aren't a lot of frills, but we weren't interested in that anyway.
Sarah, who manages the apartment, was always available to help us. She found us the best deal on a SIM card (which was very affordable and worth getting for our two-week trip in Bali) and set up rides for us to various locations.
The neighborhood is fine. It feels very local but we always felt safe and secure. The apartment is located very close to Legian, where there are plenty of restaurants and shops. We also had no problem walking to the beach from the apartment- it took about 15 minutes. There's an ATM basically right outside the front door, which was very convenient.
If you need groceries, Papaya Supermarket isn't too far away. It's walkable (look up on Google Maps) and has all the necessities.
Had a great stay at the Kuta Home away from Home. The place itself is cozy and comfortable. The AC keeps it cool. There's a water cooler for when you're thirsty. There's good local food right on the corner when you're hungry. You can walk to Legian and explore quite easily, or walk further to the beach to go for a surf. Hendro and his help where extremely helpful. Everything I wanted to do, they arranged easily for me, it was fantastic.
This apartment was amazing!! The space is just like the pictures, is convenient to everything, very close to beach and has all the amenities you could need. I just can't say enough good things about it. I extended my stay two nights because I didn't want to leave!!
Hendro and Wanto were very prompt, courteous and accommodated my urgent request for an immediate stay. Sarah was amazing, just as everyone says and assisted me with every need. The housekeeper did an excellent job and is very sweet.
I HIGHLY recommend this place and hope to come back one day.
Fantastic place! Great location, convenient and you get everything you need! Most importantly, Hendro, Wanto and Sarah, they provide the best hospitality to us and responses are fast and accurate! Best of all I have deal with :) thanks so much for everything and going the extra miles! We will be back staying with you if we come back to Bali next time. Cheers!
Hendro has been incredible helpful. Despite him being on his honey moon, he has been extremely responsive (sorry SO!); he referred me to his brother Wanto while in meetings and send me spreadsheets of places to go, and had their friend and assistant, Sara, help me arrange tours and get acquainted to the area. Sara is incredible sweet and knowledgable about the go to's. Aside from these incredible individuals that I'm glad to have met, the place is very well kept. It's a bit off the beach, so it's not as loud as staying on the main stripe. It's also very walkable to the beach thou I did get a motorbike ride most of the time.
Our stay was lovely! We made some mistakes with booking and such and Sarah & hendro were very accommodating! Sarah was an amazing host, very friendly and helpful. Anything we needed, she got for us. The place and is clean and very pretty. Just tucked away from the street but no more than a time mins motorbike ride from things in town. Lovely place to stay!

It is a perfect combination of price meets quality for massage. Its about Rp. 400,000 for 90 minutes of massage, and its worth every penny. Need to book at least 1 day in advance: (phone number hidden).
For the price, quality, and quantity, you will be hard pressed to find a better value for Indonesian/Chinese food in Kuta. Its not mind-blowing great food, but its good and you wont be disappointedJalan Patimura
