The space

If you plan to come to Romania you definitely should not miss Bucovina, an old historic area which assembles the most famous monasteries of the country. At our house you will not be disappointed with the delicious cooking, and quiet and comfortable rooms and with the rustic town of Campulung itself!

Campulung makes an excellent base for exploring the Rarau and Giumalau mountains and the neighboring monasteries without staying in overpriced accommodations in Gura Humorului or Suceava. Campulung is also very beautiful located, with many traditional wooden houses and a lifestyle that has been lost in other parts of Europe.

We've got a feeling that they were unpleasantly surprised that we found the place. It's true that we were late, but they received the message an hour before our arrival. The gate was closed and in dark. In the morning no one was there to say us good bye. Otherwise the rooms were clean and pretty.

The place is quite a big pension and in the time when we arived there was a childrens camp, so it was a little bit noisy. Tudor and Anda were not in, their mother and aunt took care of us. We communicated with them in many languages together which was quite funny and they tried to help us with everything we needed. Anyway the extra payment for food at the end of our stay was quite high. Irena and Petr, the Czech Republic

As already reported this is not as described, you are only renting a very basic room, no heating on the evening we stayed. Furniture is old and beds are uncomfortable. The food was extremely expensive and no menu or choice available at the time. Host's are very friendly but unfortunately understand very little English

The hosts were very professional and very attentive, and communication with them was smooth and easy. We did not need to review anything prior to our arrival - but when we got there, things took a massive change: the reservation for listed as "entire home" where in fact it is a series of rooming houses in a complex on a large property. The rooms themselves were relatively adequate as described - in that they had beds, a bathroom, and a window - but beyond that nothing else was as described. We arrived to find that the hosts had confused our reservations, but within 30min the problem was solved and we were sent to another address where more rooms were available; again, as part of another building complex. As a family of 6 people looking for "an entire home" so we can retain our privacy and stay together, this was not the case at all. Food was offered but at a high price for the menu, so we opted to eat elsewhere. The beds were small and uncomfortable, with a very thin mattress; the bathrooms were extremely small, and the shower didn't inspire confidence. In the end we left very tired, very disappointed, and will never use this location again. TIP: future traveler, if you book here, expect a cheap hostel comfort and facility!

We had a lovely time in Bucovina, our host Gabriela was incredibly welcoming. There was a local festival on in town and she even organised a couple of locals to take us there! The food was amazing and the room was very comfortable. Good location close to the centre of town.
