We had a wonderful time in Portland at Tom's place. Bed and breakfast in-the-park is the place to be, if you want to visit this lovely city of roses, or explore the historic (waterfall) route, or just want to be in a very comfortable b&b.
Tom has a great eye for detail, so nothing is left to chance. As a travelagent, he knows where to go, or not to go. He also knows best what a traveler needs, so you can feel confident to lock your carkeys in the trunk, 'cause he will fix it. And he did :)
His breakfast is just splendid, and a great way to start your day.
Tom, thank you so much for our lovely talks and your warm hospitality!
It was such a wonderful stay at Tom's beautiful house. Tom is a great host, knowledgeable, understanding cultural difference, very attentive to each detail! His breakfast is delicious, delicious, delicious! The house is warm, clean and quiet. We even have the luxury to tour the Japanese Garden with Tom. Thank you so much, Tom! Sure will come back.
I enjoyed clean, comfortable room with a view of garden. The aroma of fresh coffee woke me every morning. Tom made efforts to prepare a wonderful and healthy breakfast for his guests. What a treat! I truly enjoyed this location, which is in the Washington Park. It has a wide amount of the tourist attractions in this park such as the World Forestry Center, the International Test Rose Garden, and the Portland Japanese Garden. It has also the Oregon Zoo and the Portland Children's Museum. With many travel tips from Tom, I have learned a lot about Portland within 3 short days.
Tom made a huge effort to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. His food is incredible! Best breakfast I had in Portland. :) The room is cozy and the park was so close it made the whole experience very serene. Tom even helped us plan the rest of our trip as we were heading to the Redwoods of California. Tom had some experience there and we took his advice! We had a wonderful time! Thank you! We will be back again for sure.
Tom and his place in Washington Park were fantastic for my wife and me. The location is superb as you can easily walk to the International Rose Test Garden, the Nob Hill neighborhood, and even downtown Portland (about a mile). Free, easy parking on the street as well.
The bedroom itself is small but cozy, and you absolutely can't beat the breakfast or the great touring and travel advice from Tom. We had a great weekend and if we get the chance to go back to Portland we will likely stay with Tom again.
This place is truly special. Washington Park, the largest urban park in the US, literally surrounds Tom's awesome home. Breakfast was seriously top notch, and Tom was a very kind and professional host - a one of a kind stay in Portland!
Tom was incredibly hospitable, offering a cozy room with queen-sized bed and lovely decor. Everything about the stay seemed very personalized, including the gluten-free snacks and breakfast and tips based on activities/places I wanted to pursue. Reminded me of a European B&B, and I would absolutely recommend this place!
