My place borders beautiful Washington Park and the Japanese Gardens in the middle of Portland. It is quite a beautiful and restful spot!
Tom was a great host. He was so willing to share information about the area. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast every morning. Yum!
The home is located in a great Portland neighborhood--great for morning runs (if you like hills, lovely homes, and/or exploring trails into the park) and close enough for a good walk down hill into town, cutting through the park. We loved the location. Everything was clean and comfortable. Thanks Tom!
Great Location! Tom was very helpful with recommendations and a great cook.
Tom was a great host. He was there to meet us when we arrived, provided everything we needed, and was attentive yet discreet. He went out of his way to make our visit smooth and interesting. We would gladly return.
Tom was a great host. He is very knowledgable, which is helpful when visiting the city for the first time. His home is the perfect location and near all the major hot spots. He prepares and serves a great breakfast!!
Tom Was Great. I came down on a whim and he was able to help me figure out the transit system easily and even let me check in early. He made it and easy and comfortable stay and breakfast was great as well.. Thanks again Tom
We had a great time staying at Tom's after Thanksgiving this year. Good location, very hospitable host, and a great breakfast were all highlights of staying with Tom. He's a very generous person as well--he brought us along to the Employee Store at Adidas so he could share his 50% off coupon with us. What a guy! Thanks, Tom, hope to stay with you again.
This stay was out first stay through Airbnb and it was awesome to say the least. We absolutely loved our stay in Tom's place. Tom is super nice, friendly & an amazing cook (the keish which he had prepared was yummy). Tom's place is right in the park and in walking distance to the Japanese and rose garden. Thanks Tom for making our stay a pleasant and we would definitely be staying at your place whenever we visit Portland next time around.
Tom was a really great host, very hospitable and a fantastic cook! Delicious breakfasts every morning. The place is in a great location if you want to run in the trails. It is easy walking distance to Nob hill and a bit further to the pearl district, and buses are very convenient.
Tom is super friendly and knowledgeable and more than willing to help out with any travel ideas, restaurant suggestions, and outdoor activity information. The bed was comfy and the shared bathroom was more than enough. I would definitely recommend staying here, thanks again Tom!
Tom has set the standard for true hospitality. Everything about our stay in his house was excellent. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom very clean and the neighborhood was walkable. We stayed for three nights while I attended a workshop at the college and Stephen went sightseeing. Tom had maps for us and good suggestions about places to visit in the Portland area. He provided tasty, delicious home-made breakfasts (blueberry scones and wonderful mushroom quiche). On the first day we were there, Tom even walked to the bus stop with us in order to make sure that I knew which bus to take to my workshop. Because we were relying upon Portland’s public transportation system, I truly appreciated that extra effort. And he even gave me a bus schedule for the number 20 bus that stopped right at the college! When you stay with Tom Smith at Bed & Breakfast In-the-Park, you will find a friendly person who makes his guests feel truly welcome. Thank you, Tom. We look forward to visiting again.
Tom is an incredible host, even by Air BnB's high standards. As a travel agent, he really understands how to sweat the details to make the guest's stay complete. He is very knowledgeable about Portland and things to do and see all around the state. Be sure to pick his brain if you are traveling around at all. And his breakfast goes the extra mile. Great homemade food. I highly recommend!
