Private Room in Cute Beach Cottage

House - Private room · Warwick Road, East Hampton, NY 11937, United States

This cozy cottage a short drive from local beaches is the perfectly unpretentious way to enjoy the Hamptons. Bright colors abound, the yard is filled with teak loungers and patio furniture, and there's always a hammock ready for an afternoon snooze.

The Space

An adorable beach house on a quiet, secluded cul de sac. The house has all the amenities you could hope for, including a large (half-acre) private yard, hammocks, fenced vegetable garden, bikes, a six-person hot tub, gigantic shower and more.

It's two miles to both ocean and sound beaches. The closest are the gorgeous Egypt and Wiborg beaches in East Hampton Village. You can get there easily by bicycle, and I have five that you can borrow. If I am not using it, you may also be able to borrow my car, which has both village and town beach parking passes.

Centrally located, the house is a mile from the main shopping district in East Hampton, a 15-minute drive from Sag Harbor and 20 minutes from Montauk. There are nearby farm stands, seafood shacks, tennis courts, parks, hiking trails and all the other cultural and social attractions of the East End.

There are three rooms available:

Master Suite, a double-sized room with private bath. Features a king bed and queen-sized pull-out sofa. Sleeps up to four. (RENTED FROM MAY 1-SEPTEMBER 30)

Queen Bedroom, a smaller room with a bath right across the hallway. Queen bed, dresser and rocking chair in room. Sleeps two.

Basement Studio, a 500-square-foot space that gets great natural light in the afternoon. Nice and dry. Features a twin day bed that converts into a king and a standard twin day bed. Queen-size bed can be added if necessary to sleep up to five. (RENTED FROM MAY 1-OCTOBER 31)

Each room is available for weekend, weekly, monthly, seasonal or year-round rental. For a simple weekend or week-long stay, the AirBnB rate machine works just fine. I'm willing to work with the price for extended or repeat stays.

The blonde-wood kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, including a dishwasher. There are gas and charcoal barbecues outside for grilling, and even a fire pit for marshmallow roasts!

Living room features a large-screen TV with broadcast channels, Blu-ray, Netflix and a large collection of movies. There is high speed wireless internet access. Laundry is in the basement.

It's the perfect place for a relaxing getaway or a full-featured long-term stay in East Hampton.

  • Nice location a short distance from downtown. Kitchen and living room make for a cozy communal space. Reasonable price and includes parking. Thanks Isaac!

  • We stayed for 2 nights and loved the space, especially the open kitchen which enabled us to make breakfast. The quiet location is perfect, 2 minute drive to the main shopping/dining streets. Totally feel like you're in the country with lots of action happening minutes away. Isaac had a great brunch rec (Babette's) where we saw Alec Baldwin waiting in line with us and even Beyonce was shopping 3 feet away. Crazy!

  • I had a lovely time! The location is perfect for anyone that likes to bike and does not own a car. I took the train out and then biked to the ocean beaches and town. It was beautiful weather and I got the exercise I wanted. The house is clean and has all you need to be comfortable. The hot tub in the back yard is a great place to unwind in the evening. Issac was responsive to questions and a good host. I enjoyed his movie collection too. I would definitely come out again.

  • We had a great time during our stay at Isaac's place! The house is really cozy and the rooms were spotless. We had everything we needed and would definitely stay again!
Thanks, Isaac for being such a nice host!

  • Isaac was a great host. He was very quick to respond to all my questions and when I got to East Hampton he even picked me up at the bus stop which was such a big help. Isaac was super friendly and even lent me a beach towel and an umbrella
I can definitely recommend staying with him although you might want to get one of the rooms upstairs. I had to stay in the basement which was a little humid and cold and didn't get a lot of light during the days, but the other rooms look very nice.

    Response from Isaac:

Hi, Nikola. Just want to let you know that I've installed two dehumidifiers in the basement that run around the clock. The downstairs studio is now dry and toasty.

Originally from Los Angeles, I've lived in NYC since 1995, almost always in Brooklyn, including Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Prospect Heights and Park Slope. So if there's anything you need to know about the BK, I'm here to help. I work in Manhattan, as an arts and entertainment editor at the NY Post, the best (of course) of the city's three biggest newspapers. I have an 9-year-old son, who lives just around the corner from the apartment with his mom. We've got a great situation going on, since he also goes to school nearby. I'm a longtime musician, and I've played in loads of bands. Most as a singer or guitarist. Nowadays I do a lot of old-school country blues fingerpicking, influenced by Mississippi John Hurt, Skip James and Rev. Gary Davis. If you need any advice on where to see great music, I'd be happy to help. My apartment is very spacious, and I enjoy having people over to share it. I especially like meeting new people and hope you'll make yourself "at home" as much as you like. I'm also lucky to be able to share my beach house in East Hampton. When I'm out East, I love riding my vintage BMW motorcycle (1972 R75/5, for you moto nerds) and going surfing (longboards only) at Ditch Plains. I also love that it's always easy to find an open (and free) tennis court. I'd be happy to share some of my secret spots where you can really get away from the crowds -- and traffic.
