Treat the apartment as you would treat your own. No smoking and love pets just can't have them here
From the day we booked, we felt our host had taken great care to ensure our stay would go smoothly. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable and stylishly decorated. Quiet enough for the city and oh so close to great restaurants and subways, to get around town. Be sure you are okay with walking up 3 flights of stairs, Mimi workout!
The place was absolutely fantastic!! The house was so cozy and beautifully designed. The location was perfect for us. Very centrally located. Dan was a great host. Though we didn't get the opportunity to meet him he was very helpful with his suggestions. This is exactly where I'll be staying on my next visit to new york.
I took my fiancé to NYC as a 30th birthday present as it was a life long dream of his. We wanted to experience the city as true New Yorkers so we decided to look into Air B&B so we could have our own 'home', rather than live out of a hotel.
When we saw this apartment online we knew we had to have it and it certainly didn't disappoint. The apartment is small but spacious and the decor is fun and vibrant. I would happily pick this apartment up and transport it home with me to London.
The location is perfect, right slap bang in the middle of Hell's Kitchen - the new gay district - so if that is what you are looking for it should be right up your street. If it's not though and you want to do the traditional touristy stuff you couldn't be in a better position. It is a fifteen minute walk from Central Park and a ten minute walk to Times Square. We felt like we were right in the beating heart of the city. We could walk almost anywhere, but anywhere we couldn't walk to we could easily get to by the local subway which is minutes away.
The landlord Dan was amazing (he even helped us carry our cases up the stairs - what a legend). He gave us great advice about what to do and where to go and how to really enjoy the city to it's fullest and avoid falling into the traditional tourist traps. Also our flight home was later on in the day - the check out being 11am - and Dan was so great at letting us store our luggage in the flat free of charge so that we could continue to explore on our last day.
If I had to mark this apartment and the friendliness/helpfulness of our landlord - they would get an absolute eleven out of ten.
When we were posting our photos on Facebook we had many people asking us for Dan's details. So I think many happy Londoners may be about to descend upon him.
We are already saving up to go there again and I know exactly where we are going to stay - I really don't think we could do any better.

Dan was a fantastic host! He welcomed us upon arrival and gave us some great tips on where to eat and what to see during our 48-hour visit. The apartment was very clean, beautifully decorated and in a great location, close to both Central Park and Times Square. We had a wonderful time stating in his apartment and would recommend it to anyone!
Dan was very helpful, always ready to answer any questions we had about the apartment and about New York- places to eat etc. He was very busy with his other apartments during our trip so we didn't get to meet in person but he left very clear instructions about how to get into the flat. The flat appears as described -clean and comfortable, wifi is very fast. You have to be fit to get your bags up the 4 flights of stairs on arrival although we were offered help getting them down again when we left. The location is great and it's nice to have kitchen facilities to save a bit of money. Only negative was the experience we had with luggage storage on the last day. Dan kindly gave us the details of somewhere to store our things but the prices weren't clear and the facilities were very poor when we got there- faulty lift, no toilets or air con, car to airport running late etc. would recommend finding somewhere yourself for that. Overall a great stay.
This place was absolutely perfect! It was also my first Airbnb experience and am glad I stayed at this location. I really liked the design, cleanliness and neighborhood. The location is central and not too far from restaurants, bars, subways, Times Square and other hot spots. Dan was very sweet and informative about the area and recommended some places to visit, which made my NY experience even better. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who is visiting and wants to stay in a convenient location that isn't a hotel.
