David was an exceptionally awesome host. He was incredibly helpful in the weeks prior to our trip, helping us to plan rental car arrangements and giving us advice on what to do on the island. We arrived late on a Monday and he took time out of his schedule to meet us at the airport, help us get to where we were staying, and even graciously provided some snacks for the next morning. David even gave us a comprehensive tour of the accommodations at Pic Paradis the following day. The site was beautiful, and was in much better shape than we expected. He was available through our whole trip if we had questions or problems, and overall treated us like family rather than Airbnb guests. Thanks, David! You made our trip so much better
Our pathfinder club recently had a five night camp at Davids property at the Bush camping with agriculture land and we had a wonderful time ( staff and kids)! There were about 20+ persons camping and we had eight tents up with plenty space remaining for the kids to gather together for activities such as sport, outdoor activities and pathfinder class work.
What I liked about the property is that it is very secure and well hidden away, we placed our tents behind a gated area but there are other areas you can choose to camp on as well.
There was a cistern on site and that saved us the hassle of having to transport bathing water for so many people up a hill. The nature is beautiful we hiked and did an activity on the second day where the kids were assigned to identify as much edible plants/ fruits as possible during a track and trail. We saw trees such as breadfruit, banana, papaya, mango, locust, wild tobacco, etc. In the night the temperature drops but that was also one of the reasons we chose the area so that the children could learn how to survive, pack and prepare for different types of weather. Other good things about this site is that there is a sheltered area you can use for group meetings when the weather is bad, there is a toilet and shower facility and there are plenty of hiking routes adjacent to the land.
The downside of the camping location is that the road to get there is a bit rough but if you have a high jeep or truck you can easily ride straight up to the camp site and you will see that it is worth the hassle.
The host David is also a great guy, very helpful and he also gave us some history and a mini tour of the site. He checked in with us while camping to see if everything was okay, which was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend this campsite for groups looking for a real nature experience away from the daily hustles and bustles.
