Suosittelemme!
Back home and still relaxed. The apartment of George was a big part of that. It was cosy, calm (except the two little woodworms in bed they are still there but they are not a big problem if you sleep deep) and very friendly. Georges aparment is in the middle of nature but not far away from the wonderful beach of Sougia where you can relax really good. I loved the warmth of Marianne. She is the wonderful host of the aparment during the summer. Also the interior design is amazing - between swedish and greek styles with stones, wood and lots of white stuff. All in all: If we visit the Wets of Crete again we'll be in Georges apartment! And if you love cats... you'll love it there too eve if the cats a not from George :-)
Thank you George and Katerina for a wonderful stay! My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and wished it could have been longer. A beautiful and quiet location in the mountains, 10 minutes drive outside of Sougia, and the apt was amazing - beautifully designed, spacious and clean, just like the pictures. George and Katerina were both wonderfully helpful with everything. We hope to be back soon!
We stayed here for an all too short 3 nights as part of our Cretan holiday. The accommodation is an exact replica of the pictures we saw and our apartment number 3 exceeded expectation. The welcome from Katarina on behalf of George was warm and welcoming but efficient : our room was ready before we anticipated. We had a lovely stay, it is secluded and peaceful but within reach of some amazing Cretan experiences like walking the Samaria Gorge . Would recommend this, exceptional service and fantastic location for peace and tranquility but also adventure !
We (2 persons) entirely enjoyed our stay at the amazing Superior Apartment in Moni and felt directly at ease - Katarina welcomed us as agreed with George and she was very helpful during our stay. The apartment is located 4km up the hills from Sougia, so just a short drive by car to the beach, some tavernas and a mini market. If you like to have the mountains around you AND the sea nearby, we clearly recommend you to stay there!
After a long drive through winding mountain roads you finally reach Moni, a very small village in the middle of the 'mountains' near the coast. It's a good advice to read the 'how to get there' in advance :)
In Monastery Estate waits a very warm welcome by Katerina and the dog. Peaceful is the right word for this remote place, but the setting is gorgeous. (Literally: In this region of Crete lots of gorges lead from the Omalos plateau into the sea and make great hikes, from bottom to top for the brave ones, another good advice: arrange the 'how to get back' in advance :) Boats and buses don't follow an obvious schedule.
Walk to Lissos beach from Sougia!
