Francis Fassett, one of Portland’s most distinguished and prolific 19th-century architects, designed this grand Victorian Townhouse, built of granite, limestone and locally-quarried brick, in the Eastlake style of the 1870’s as his family’s home. 140 years later, you have the chance to stay in this 3,900 sq/ft historical landmark, updated with modern amenities.

Your home for the duration of your visit will be a sun-filled duplex townhouse that occupies the first two floors of Fassett House.

The townhouse, set on a leafy corner in the heart of Portland’s historic West End, is a perfect destination for families and friends and an ideal location for exploring the city and region. Step outside and begin to enjoy all that Portland offers: a beautiful, walkable neighborhood, coastal beauty, premier restaurants, art galleries and museums, cocktail bars and microbreweries, live music and so much more!

After a long day or night of Maine adventures, Francis Fassett House offers you modern comforts and amenities in a historic setting, with high ceilings and windows and gracious, inviting spaces – including two parlors, a formal dining room and seasonal porches - in which to relax and recharge.

You will have exclusive access to the duplex townhouse, which includes a Master Bedroom suite with king bed, private living room and full bath, two additional bedrooms each with a queen bed and a shared full bath, a queen sleeper sofa and half-bath in the middle parlor (plus an additional queen air mattress if you would rather use that than the sleeper) large front parlor, formal dining room, full kitchen, sunroom, open porch and a 4th half-bath in the rear entry hall accessible to all guests.

*Please let us know if you will need linens for the sleeper or air mattress before your stay.

There are two off-street parking spots reserved for guests; additional on-street parking is usually easy to find.

PLEASE NOTE:

1) While all three bedrooms have individual window air conditioner units, that operate during the summer season (late May thru September), like many historical Maine homes, the townhouse does NOT have central air. We have fans for guests to use.

2) Parties and other events are permitted only if pre-approved in advance of your arrival.

3) The unheated sunroom is closed for the season Nov 1 - May 1.

Guest access
You have exclusive and sole access to the first two floors of 119 Pine Street. This includes the 3 bedrooms (plus a queen sized air mattress), 4 bathrooms (2 full-baths and 2 half-baths), 3 living rooms, dining room, kitchen, sunroom, and porch.

There are two off-street parking spots for guests (one right in front of the other), and on-street parking is usually easy to find.
