ADDITIONAL INFO

The studio is in the basement of my home (I live upstairs when I'm not traveling for work), so you have your privacy, but also the security of knowing you're not completely alone in a new city.

Have special requests, like grocery delivery, airport transport, etc? I'm happy to arrange for an additional price, just let me know. For example, maid service can be provided for $55.00 per cleaning.

Please no smoking or pets.

  • I had wonderful time staying at Ann's place. The basement was really clean and neat, I love the privacy. Everything from towel, toilet paper, even cooking pans were available for you. Ann wasn't home during my visit but I got to see Sosimo (Ann's husband) and he was really nice and helpful!

  • Just liked advertised, fast communication, very clean!

  • My husband and I met Sosimo briefly twice; he was quite polite and helpful in getting us into the unit. The studio apartment was as shown in photos, and it was a comfortable space for two adults over our week there. It was nice having a fridge and microwave for small meals & eating leftovers. The bed was quite comfy and the bathroom is spacious. My husband and I (both late 20s) were quite uncomfortable being in the neighborhood on foot after dark, and we ended up getting back to the studio after dark two nights. Hayes St. had a few dark spots (some streetlights were out) and there were people hanging out on some of the corners; no one approached us nor made any communication toward us, but it was uncomfortable nonetheless. During the day, we encountered friendly neighbors on our walks to/from the Metro station located 3-4 blocks away. We purchased a week pass from the Metro, which allowed for us to easily navigate from this property to the downtown DC area for restaurants, shops, sightseeing, etc. There were no restaurants, shops, etc. in sight of the Metro at the studio's stop or on the walk to the unit.

  • We enjoyed our stay with Ann. The place was clean and cozy. Also very important, the studio is located near a Metro (subway train) station. For a couple of dollars it takes you directly to monument mall or downtown without transfers. The neighborhood is very quiet. We would gladly stay there on our next visit to DC. Thank you Ann!

  • Our stay was short, but we found this Studio fit our needs just fine. It was a short walk to the metro and bus line as well as a grocery store. Ann was very accommodating and willing to help out with whatever our needs were including offering a ride to the store. It was clean and quite even though it was a lower lever unit. We found the people in the neighborhood friendly as you walked by on the way to the metro. If you want to save on your hotel stay and don't mind a short commute to downtown DC, you would not be disappointed with Ann's studio apartment.

  • Ann's basement apartment has everything you could need for a stay away from home. Very comfortable, warm (we did get 6 inches of snow!) and convenient for the orange line public transit. Ann greeted us and was very friendly. There was always someone around should we need them, but we had total privacy and freedom. A very nice place.

  • I really enjoyed my stay! Ann and Sosimo are really nice people; they were kind and helpful to me. Sosimo even gave me a ride to the grocery store! The room is clean and cozy, which is a really good place to live. I've got everything I needed there.

  • Me and my boyfriend stayed at Ann's for a week and it was perfect. The apartment is very close to the metro and we felt safe at all times. The kitchen was well equipped. Although it was pretty cold outside and the apartment is colocated in the basement it was never cold inside. We even had the chance to use the washing mashine, which was really nice. I would definitly recommend staying at Ann's when visiting Washington D.C.!

  • Everyone has already raved about the cleanliness and comfort of Ann's apartment and I concur but would like to address it's convenience. As a 60 something Anglo couple we found Ann's neighborhood to be friendly helpful with super easy safe access to Safeway and the Metro. It is only a 10 minute ride to the Mall costing just 2 bucks. Every morning we'd walk to the metro greetings would ring out and one evening we joined in a neighborhood birthday song for some fellows 50th! Sure, this is DC we are talking about, best to be street smart but don't be afraid of Ann's neighborhood, like the folks in a prior review implied, because Ann's place is the BEST location from which to stay and visit DC.Love the slogan: SLEEP CHEAP IN DC.
