My wife and I decided to stay here after reading a number of great reviews. The studio was recently remodeled and everything was nice and clean. Check-in was easy; there was a lock-box outside of the door and a separate entrance into the studio from the front. But once we got there, things just didn't seem right. The studio is not located in the best part of town and my wife and I did not feel comfortable walking around after dark. The metro station is about 10 minutes away, but even then, we did not feel that walking there would be very prudent. In her messages Ann had said numerous time to "ring the bell if you need anything or have any questions". We rang the doorbell a number of times to get some advice about staying in the studio but no one ever answered even though we could hear the bell and someone walking around inside! Later that night (about 1:00 am) we heard yelling coming from the street. We also hear banging on the door and a commotion upstairs (the studio is in the downstairs of the house), after that, there were children yelling and running around upstairs making it impossible to sleep. The whole experience was just weird. I'm sure other people have had great experiences here, but the thing that aggravated me the most was that we were ignored by the host when we were trying to get some advice about our stay in her house. After our first night we ended up staying at a hotel in town because we did not feel comfortable in the studio.
A very neat place to stay. It has all you could ask for and was clean. I would recommend staying here. Looks just like the photos
Ann was accommodating and quick to respond to questions. Her apartment was a good place to stay if you're exploring DC as public transport is less than 10 minutes away. The bed was comfy, the bathroom and the kitchen were clean and there is adequate storage for your luggage. Thanks Ann and Sosimo!
Ann was a very gracious host and made me and my boyfriend feel very welcome and comfortable. The studio is exactly as described in the listing and portrayed in the photos: clean, comfortable, everything you need for a pleasant stay. The neighborhood is very suburban, but the closeness of the metro station make it feel very accessible. For the price and the quality, Ann's place is an excellent home while you're in the area.
It is a gorgeous little English basement. Ana and her husband were very warm and welcoming when I met them and they have set up a wonderful home away from home, evening including details like complimentary shampoo and conditioner. The metro is close to the house, although it is a bit of a commute if you are going somewhere that is not on the Orange line. That being said, if you are going to most of the major DC sights, it is a great location with a price that can't be beat!
Great experience here! Ann and her husband are cheerful and welcoming and the place is nice, clean, and has everything you need - from towel and shower gel to spoons and tea. Well located near the subway, it is a 5 minutes walk to the station. Hope to see you next time we visit Washington!
