My daughter and I stayed with Dara while we were visiting Bard College, which is a scenic 8 minute drive away. Dara was a great hostess; she provided excellent coffee and great directions! The guest room and bath were clean and well-appointed; we definitely will return.
Dara and Lee were great hosts. Their house was very relaxing and peaceful, and we enjoyed our conversations with them. Will stay again.
Dara and Lee were lovely hosts, making me feel welcome in their home. Access to the kitchen to have breakfast was a nice perk. My stay at their property was an excellent alternative to an impersonal and more expensive hotel stay. The room was comfortable and it was great to have a desk area and access to WiFi. I would recommend their place for artists and patrons interested in accommodations for the annual Rhinebeck Arts Festival.
Dara was a most welcoming host: she was open, easygoing, and responsive to our questions. She provided us with information about possible hiking trails in the region. She baked muffins for breakfast and gave us yogurt, fruit, and home-made cereals - all that we could desire for breakfast. She opened her patio to us where we could sit for breakfast and late at night. We so much enjoyed looking out on the rolling hills, and the peace and quite that surrounds Dara's house. This pleasure made up for a somewhat disappointing experience in the guest room: the ceiling is so low that we could not stand upright in some places (we are tall people, but still), and the tiny windows gave no view but the herbs directly in front of them. Although Dara had done a great job in furbishing the rooms nicely, we could not shake the feeling of being in a cellar. All the more our thanks to Dara for having made us comfortable with the rest of her home: our stay was a serene experience, and we look forward to coming back to this part of the world.
We had a wonderful stay with Dara. We particularly appreciated that she took us in on very short notice and made us feel so welcome. The room was quiet and comfortable and though not exactly private it certainly felt like having our own space. Dara is a fascinating person and we discovered many lovely connections. We enjoyed meeting Jenny the sweet little dog (a bit barky at first but we quickly made friends). The location feels very secluded but is actually quite close to the highway, which made it easy to access. Our experience reminded us of why we like Airbnb - a comfortable room, clean bath and a very interesting hostess. Like staying with a friend we only just met.
Beautiful house and great host. Thanks to Dara and Lee for hosting us and providing great recommendations.
Dara was a lovely host and we felt very welcome staying at her home. The view from the terrace is magnificent and the place is quiet and secluded. You can experience true peace here and the energy is so grounding.
