The Space

Enjoy the Surf crashing on the lava beds within walking distance to the flow going into the ocean. This cute, quiet one bedroom one bath will sleep 4 guests with a queen size bed in the bedroom and a queen size sofa bed in the living area. This property is tucked back in to a very private little neighborhood with only 7 homes. The lava flow is about an hours walk across the lava bed. I would highly recommend taking the guided tour so you don't get lost. Bring some hiking shoes and plenty of sun screen. Temperatures are 60 degrees at night and low 80s during the day. (email hidden) to kick back and enjoy Hawaii. Go visit the volcano. Just about a 20 to 30 minute drive.

Please remember there is a tax of 13.42% due upon arrival.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • This suite is conveniently located for exploring the Kalapana and Kapoho area. Accurately priced for a basic accommodation with no extras included (i.e beach towels, beach chairs, snorkel gear, etc).
Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper - the coqui frogs are LOUD!

  • I really chose this place b/c the price was right...but having said that you do get what you pay for. Overall I would recommend this place if you're on a budget for a few nights. The location itself is awesome and it's in a very quiet neighbourhood. What I didn't like about the place was first of all, the nylon sheets on the bed! Also it's a ground floor apartment so when new people moved in upstairs the following day I could hear everything, (obviously there's no insulation between the 2 suites.)

  • Easily the best place to stay if you want to see lava flows! The house is clean, convenient and just a few steps to the youngest and most beautiful black sand beach of big island. Bill will answer your question faster than you will ask !
