We had a great time on a lovely property with lovely hosts. The view is 2nd to none and that alone relaxes and inspires you. It is peaceful . I brought my Hammock (which as it's own frame stand) and was perfect to relaxe while looking at the sheer beauty in front. There is lots of room inside, we felt at home right away. We really enjoyed the lake which is amazingly clear , clean and just right to refresh and have a good swim, there is about 5ft of water all around the dock .There is also great zero gravity chairs to unwind overthere. The kids loved their time and every one wished we could stay longer. It is worth having tea with dessert at sunset on the dock! Grocery & shopping is close enough with both Peachland and Summerland around 8 KM away and Westbank Kelowna 15-20 minutes away. Lots to do for the family in the region. We'll be back for sure!
We're just back from our week at the Luxury Retreat on Okanagan Lake and agree that after our honeymoon, this was our favorite vacation ever. Sandra was a great host, from calling us to make sure we knew how to get in, to leaving us wine, brakfast, fresh fruit and coffee to start our stay right. The home was beautiful and quiet, well-decorated and comfortable with a nice bedroom, plenty of kitchen space and a great front room. But we spent much of our time outdoors, on the covered patio enjoying morning sun, sitting on lawn chairs overlooking the lake in the late afternoons while usually enjoying wine we'd bought at one of the local wineries, down at the private dock where we felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves, or in the outdoor dining area for dinner after barbecuing. Sandra was a warm and engaging host, and along with her husband Richard they made us and our dog feel very welcome. This place was a terrific find, a great deal and a wonderful way to spend a week. We hope to return next summer.
Sandra and Richard made us welcome and saved a trip into town by supplying essentials in the fridge and kitchen, Sandra even sent us an e-mail warning us of an accident on the highway that might slow us down.
The location is awesome with wonderful lake views and private access to the lakeshore. The spacious suite and patio stayed pleasantly cool despite the record-breaking temperatures while we were there and waking up to the sunrise across the lake, the birds singing and the quail scooting about was unbeatable.
Wonderful, relaxing holiday spot.
We had a most amazing looong weekend at Sandra's place. It is very spacious, inside and out, with a large patio overlooking the lake from which to watch sunrises and particularly sunsets, which create most interesting shadows on the mountainside across the water as the sun slowly sets.
Sandra welcomed us to her generously equipped apartment and well stocked kitchen with all the necessary equipment and supplies of coffee, tea and wine. And she kept checking that all was as it should be. After we had found the path down to the beach we stretched out on comfortable deck chairs on her private dock. We didn't really want to leave when time came to return home.
Sandra, Richard & Sparky were absolute fabulous hosts. We were welcomed with a bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine which was such a nice unexpected treat. There place was beautiful and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again with no hesitation. The location was ideal. The accommodations were second to none and the beds were very comfortable. We felt very at home and can't wait to visit again. Thanks for sharing !!!
We had a great stay and our 6 month twins enjoyed having the space to play. Sandra was very welcoming and helpful in ensuring we had everything we needed, even bringing down extra floor mats for the girls. We were unlucky with the weather so didn't get to use the outdoor seating an BBQ but it would be lovely in warmer weather.
Mrs Sandra Skermer was very helpful and kind. She was a great host to us and always made us feel as if we were at home.
There is no neighborhood except for the Skermers themselves, so it's very quiet and soothing.
The description of the flat was correct in all aspects and the flat itself was very well equipped and nicely groomed.
If we ever have the chance to come back to Canada, we surely will ask at the Skermer's place for a stay.
