The Space

Great location. Come and relax in the heart of Kilauea village.
Ride a bike or hike down beautiful beaches.
Centrally located, with great Restaurants(great wines), Bakery, (a block away)all kinds of shops. Organic and healthy stores, Thursday and Saturday markets, play ground, soccer field, all in a walking distance and the bus is just a block away.
The duplex is owner occupied with it's totally private and lovely studio named the Bird's nest. Very cozy and peaceful. Full kitchen, bath, big room divider, it fits 3 comfortably. Also has a washer/dryer, beach stuff, parking and Bicycles. Sorry no TV, hair dryer Nor Smoking.
You will find the Mana we love and foster on our charming property with tropical fenced yard, growing garden and the Banyan Lanai Bird's Nest is 45ft high up in my majestic 150 years old Banyan tree. Great spot to hang out, on top of the North Shore with Bali Hai sunset... A Gem mirador...
This is the private getaway you have been looking for. Ask for our small kind tree house lunch and breakfast :)

  • We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time for 5 days in the studio and birds nest. An excellent location for us because we preferred not to be staying in some of the busy North towns (Princeville, Hanalei). The studio is as Brigitte writes, clean neat spacious and even though it is under her house there is complete privacy. Having the snorkelling gear and beach items provided is a bonus. The Birds Nest is also an incredible bonus and we enjoyed drinks there at sunset. Walking distance from a great restaurant, fish shop, bakery and a short <5 min drive to a great organic shop if wanted. Brigitte was quick inn response to contacts we made with her and she was incredibly informative and her enthusiasm for the island shone through which helped make our trip special. Highly recommended!

  • We had a great time and both Brigitte and her beautiful house were very warm and welcoming. The studio is quiet with a nice kitchen and we felt at home right away. The neighbourhood is also great and just around the corner, there is a really good coffee shop and restos. Also, Brigitte went out of her way to be as accommodating as possible and gave us all kinds of great tips on how to best enjoy our stay A+++

  • What more can we say, it was a special spot on the beautiful north coast of Kauai.
Our hostess Brigitte was beautiful inside and out . She made us feel welcome and at home with being intrusive. The tree house gave us an opportunity to view the surrounding area while we sipped our glass of sparkling wine.
Brigitte gave us some great hints on the area and even pointed out the local yoga studio- which everyone should try- it was a mystical experience.
By the way the accommodation was spacious and the ideal for our needs.
Well done Brigitte and we both hope our paths cross again one day, Mahole xx

  • Brigitte was a very gracious host and the bird's nest is a wonderful little hideaway in Kilauea. Unfortunately, we were unable to take advantage of a lot of the amenities Brigitte was offering -- bikes, snorkeling equipment, etc. -- because of all the rain. But you can certainly prevail upon her knowledge of the area, enjoy a lovely view from the Banyan treehouse, or walk into town for some sweets at the Kilauea Bakery. There's also a nice yoga studio nearby. All in all, a very spacious studio at a very affordable price!

  • Our stay at the Birds Nest was absolutely what we expected! Brigette and Guillaume were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. They offered us bananas from a tree, offered to have a bbq together, and we even purchased some beautiful photos taken by Guillaume. If you stay here, you should definitely ask to see some photos. We bought two of dolphins and one of the Hanalei pier!
The studio was clean and quiet. We spent most of our time out and about during the day, but spent the evenings making dinner and playing games. There were some Hawaiian CD's there for us to listen to, along with the radion to hear whats happening on the island. The tree house is really cool addition, where you can hang out and cook, or just be above the world for a little bit. The studio is perfectly located to get to the north and east shore spots, and we walked all over Kilauea, to the lighthouse, the lookout, rock quarry, markets, etc. If I could live and stay here in this studio I would!

We coudln't have asked for a better place to stay! Thank you Brigette and Guillaume!

  • Our adventurous small family, including myself, husband, and 18 month-old son, loved every minute of our 10-day stay with Brigitte and Guillame. They were always accessible from the beginning to us, and gave us so many ideas of where to go and included free snorkeling gear, offered us bikes, you name it. The studio is very romantic, beautiful colors and furniture, very clean and awesomely appointed with everything one needs to feel truly at home. Kiluaea is the perfect location to stay in Kaua'i as you get a diverse experience of weather, tropical rainstorms here and there but always it was warm enough that if we had our laundered clothes out to dry on the line they would be miraculously dry by the end of the day. My son loved Brigitte's dog, Chante, who is a charmer with small children. As hosts, Brigitte and Guillame are very warm but also respected our privacy completely. Their land is beautiful, anointed with love and creativity everywhere that respects the spirit of the place and makes the yard feel much much bigger than it is in square feet! Also, there is a great Yoga studio across the street. Lovely neighborhood walks, and fantastic eateries around and a market. We'll be coming back here for sure if they don't have a long term tenant next winter! Bravo!

  • Brigitte welcomed me warmly. The North Shore Birds Nest and Studio was comfortable, clean and very conveniently situated half a block away from the main Kilauea road to the lighthouse and within very easy walking distance to the local village shops. These included a bakery, a food store, which also sold wine and beer, the Bistro, and various boutiques. The Studio, which was on the ground floor, was spacious, the bed was comfortable and, apart from sharing the family outdoor areas in the garden, the value adding extras provided by Brigitte included tea and coffee, cooking oil, pepper and salt, sugar, some butter and various spices, as well as fresh avocados from her garden and even a hand of lady bananas.

The instructions for use of the studio were by the entry doorway and were clearly outlined.

Access to the "Bird's Nest" was via a ladder up the tree rather than the rope bridge shown in the photo. The view from the tree house was fabulous and if I had younger bones, I would have visited it more than the one time I did.

The Studio provided me with all that I needed and I enjoyed my brief stay.
