We are a four-generation oyster and cockle aquaculture farmer and we have been sharing our home and serving guests for over 40 years! We have traditional tatami rooms that overlook the beautiful Kumihama Bay and a walking distance to Shotenkyo Beach.

Other activities include hiking, biking, visiting temples and shrines, enjoying sakura festival, experience Kinosaki Onsen, surfing, Shore Fishing or Deep Sea Fishing, golf and finally, do Oyester aquafarming with us!

Sliding shōji doors offer uninterrupted water views, and our comfy futons will ensure you get a great night’s sleep!

You will have your own private entrance to the home. a pathway that is inside the compound. A parking space that can accommodate a maximum of four (4) private vehicles. You will also have access to the backdoor which leads directly to the quay wall and a good walk to Kumihama Bay.

We respect your privacy but should you wish to have more interaction with the host, we can be available for any questions or assistance.

The host lives in the property and can be contacted at any time.

Please let me know if you need a lift to and from the station or for outings, making use of the host's free time.

Kumihama Bay is famous for its fresh oysters and snow crabs. Its a fishing village where you can experience traditional Japanese aquaculture and eat the freshest oyster and crabs in Japan.

You can experience and learn oyster farming with your host too!

~ Self Cooking ~

Only available to those who are willing to use an old kitchen that is not in good condition, as it is the only one available for family use.

~ Transportation ~

Having your own transport is recommended however, taxis and bikes are available from the train station. we also have bikes in the guesthouse which you can use for free.

Pick-up and Drop off to and from Kumihama Train Station can also be arranged with the host for a fee. Maximum six (6) persons only. Advance booking is required.

Where you’ll be

Our neighborhood is filled with fishermen and farmers and they are all friendly! You will have a very unique experience here - chances are you will be the only non-Japanese person for miles! The children of the neighborhood will say 'hello!' and everyone will want to make sure you have a great stay. In the summer, the beach is packed with beachgoers from the city and in the winter crab season, we have many visitors in town for our seafood. Come in the Spring or Fall and you'll have the place to yourself!

Hello! I am the owner of a minshuku (Japanese Inn) in Kumihama, one of the most beautiful places in the world! I have been hosting Japanese guests for over 40 years and look forward to opening my home to people from around the world. Our area is famous for its seafood and I have my own oyster farm. It doesn't get any fresher! There is not a kitcen in the rooms for the guests but you can share our kitchen if you want to use! I look forward to hosting - please feel free to ask any questions.
