My husband Michael and I have lived on these 70-acres since 1990, raising four children and an assortment of pets. Our farm, Northwest Alpacas, has been in business since the first Alpaca import in 1984. My husband has written five books about alpacas and a book about Vicuña. He has also judged Alpacas world wide. I founded the Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America. We are known in the industry as "alpaca pioneers".
When our kids flew the nest in 2006, we started Oakwood Gardens as a way to see more beautiful things grow and flourish. We enjoy nature, traveling, gardening, architecture, the arts, and wholesome food. Most of all we look forward spending time with our kids and their spouses and enjoying family traditions together. In the spring of 2016 we opened our first Airbnb accommodation and since opened five more. It has been a delight to host such a wonderful assortment of people from around the world to share our farm, garden and countryside community with.
