National Geographic rates this area as "one of the top 10 four-season adventure destinations in country". Cabin located in NC High Country near Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Wilkesboro, West Jefferson, Grandfather, Beech, Appalachian & Sugar Mtns. with NC Mountains-to-Sea Trail and Appalachian Trail nearby.

The space
You can come and go freely as you have a separate entry to entire lower level apartment of cabin with your own private deck. This space includes a chaise lounge for naps/quiet time, chairs for reading, table for morning coffee and enjoying the soothing sounds of nature plus a hanging swing and chair for viewing/enjoying the beauty of the mountains/nature. This is an ideal get-away for serenity, peace and quiet. There are several hiking trails to walk plus a hardy hike down to the bottom of our property to view/enjoy the crystal clear babbling brook with a beautiful cascade that flows into a natural area for taking a dip in the cool water.

Lower level of the cabin with an outside hot tub on the west side to enjoy sunsets.

Jim, a retired professor & Sue, a retired nurse, have backpacked extensively abroad/USA and also home exchanges. Lived in the Marianas Islands, hiked the El Camino, cycled New Zealand, motorcycled in various countries, American Hiking Society crew leaders, lived on a sailboat for 2 yrs. and presently are involved with providing summer camp for children with autism and family. Living in the NC High Country near Boone, "Heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains", our cabin is nestled on 25 acres of woods located on Wildcat Ridge overlooking beautiful mountain views with access for many opportunities for recreation and relaxation. LIFE Motto: "Traveling around the world on a dollar or a dime, .....you can find the magic if you just take the time."
