I stayed at this lovely home with a co-worker during a recent work trip to LA. The home was very comfortable and was just as described in the listing. Loved all of the craftsman details and how centrally located the home was to everything in Santa Monica. I'd stay here again.
The only thing that wasn't perfect was the noise. The windows are all original (I'm assuming) and therefore not very sound proof. That means you can hear everything going on outside. From the birds chirping, to people walking their dogs down the street, to the gardeners raking and leaf blowing, to the young people coming and going at all hours from the surrounding apartment buildings.
I, myself, was fine with it. But my co-worker who is a very light sleeper did have some issues.
Other than that, I'd say we had the perfect stay!!!
This house was great for our family. My husband and I were traveling with our two small children and my parents. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious. The front porch swing was a wonderful place for morning coffee and afternoon tea (or wine). There were plenty of places to eat, shop and get coffee within walking distance. Some of the hills were a little steep for my dad, but other than that the walking was great. Lauren offered us the use of a pack n play, umbrella stroller and high chair, which were all waiting for us upon arrival. It was so convenient. She had mentioned there would be some toys and my 3 year old son loved exploring the toy closet and came back with something different each time. There were also beach toys and beach towels provided which was great for beach trips. Additional backyard toys were there as well. The guesthouse in the backyard is rented separately. I saw another review mentioning it was weird to have a shared yard, but we did not feel that at all. We saw people walk through, but it was not invasive and didn't bother us in the least. I had to text Lauren twice with minor questions during our stay and she responded immediately and answered our questions.
Lauren and her husband are fantastic! Quick answers to any of my questions. The house is clean and in the perfect location for shops and the beach. The house is equipped with everything I needed for my 10 month old, making our stay and travel stress free. Highly recommend.
Lauren was a fantastic host! She was super helpful attentive and answered any questions we had instantly. The house was a lot bigger than the pictures show, and it has great well-equipped kitchen! We had a great time staying at Lauren's house and would definitely stay there again.
This was the second time we've stayed in this beautiful historic home.
It was perfect for our family of six. Spacious bedrooms...each with it's own bathroom and lots of closet space. Loved the handsome woodwork and all the built-ins. Thank you, Lauren, for all the great toys and books you provided for our three year old grandchild.
We loved sitting together on the porch swing reading all her favorite books. We also greatly appreciated having a parking space off the street and the large back yard. Highly recommended.
