Wonderful one bedroom apartment located in the old Bryant & May matchstick factory development in East London. With double height ceiling and open plan layout it benefits from being within a secure, gated and staffed estate. Perfect for city breaks.
Thanks for looking at my apartment in Bow, East London. Situated within the grounds of the old Bryant & May matchstick factory it benefits from gated and secure entry and is surrounded by lovely gardens and ponds.
The flat has one bedroom which will sleep two adults and one small child, for which a Mamas and Papas travel cot is provided. It cannot accept guests I'm afraid. An electric blanket is in place for those who like it toasty in bed and it's dual zone to cater for those who do not! All bedding and towels are of course provided as well as an iron, ironing board and a memory foam neck support pillow is available should you feel you want to use it also.
It has a double height ceiling and a huge south westerly facing window with views out towards Canary Wharf and The O2 from the 4th floor of the block but this is more like the 8th floor given the ceiling heights.
There is a TV with Blu Ray player and small (but quality) selection of films, free to use WIFI. The kitchen has a full quota of pots and pans for your use along with tea and coffee making and a toaster.
The estate has its own shop which is very handy for breakfasts (really nice fresh croissants) and supplies of food, drink and any essentials you might've forgotten. There is also a bar on site which has a fantastic curry kitchen (they'll deliver to your door) as well as doing a good old fashioned cooked breakfast at the weekends.
There is no parking but given advance notice I can arrange this with the estate office. The charge is £15 per day and the car park is fully secure, within the complex and away from the street. At weekends parking is available for free in nearby locals streets.
The bustling day and night spots of London's East End are all within easy reach by tube, bus and bike and the financial districts of Canary Wharf and the City are pretty much on the doorstep.
Travel times are roughly:
- 5 min walk from Bow Church DLR
- 5 mins walk to bustling Roman Rd Market (Tues, Thur, Sat)
- 8 mins walk from Bow Road Tube
- 10 mins to Canary Wharf
- 10 mins walk to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
- 10 mins walk to Victoria Park
- 15 mins to The O2 (easy bus journey, great for beating the queues after events!)
- 15 mins to Westfield Stratford City (Europe's largest shopping centre)
- 15 mins from Liverpool Street station
- 25 mins from London City Airport (DLR)
- 30 mins to Central London
- 45 mins from Stansted Airport (National Express stop at the end of the road)
I will usually try to meet my guests on arrival and then leave you to it. I am always on hand however should you need any help with anything and am happy to be contacted at any time whether for help, advise or ideas.
For longer stays I may ask for occasional access just to spruce the place up to make my life easier come the end of your stay. This will be arranged with you in advance though if relevant.
I'd like to think I can offer you a place with superb location, that is clean and comfortable, has history and charm with modern convenience and amenities, that is safe and secure and provides a great base from which to work or simply enjoy London.
Please note - as a one bedroom apartment it is most suited to 2 adults and a small child. For three adults to stay it requires that one person makes use of an air mattress (which I can provide, with bedding) which fits in the living room area. It is quite comfortable but it does mean that this person is open to the noise and light coming through the window in the morning as there is no curtain.
To many of my guests this is not an issue but I appreciate that it might not be suitable for everyone and I do not want anyone to be disappointed with their stay.
Please consider this before making a booking if you are more than 2 people. Do feel free to contact me with any questions.
I had a very pleasant stay in this apartment. Great location, easy access to public transport. Dominic made sure that our stay would be as comfortable as possible. If I will need a place to stay in London again definitely I will contact Dominic.

We were looking for a flat in London for our first-time visit and we chose Dominic's.
Everything was perfect. Dominic is very responsive and available for any question we had. He is also very friendly and won't miss at giving you advices for your trip.
You are welcomed with a highly-detailed pack that answers most of the questions you can have.
The flat looks like exactly the photos. It is very clean, beautiful, convenient and everything you need during your stay is provided (linens, towels, dishes, fridge....). In fact, the flat is part of a old factory which has been rehab in apartments.
Moreover, it's pretty well located because there is an underground station (District line) at 6-7 minuts by foot and the line is direct to Westminster and famous Bigben. The station is part of Zone 2 so your rides with the underground will the cheaper.
Just little thing: the flat is near a railway so you may hear some trains passing around, but it does not disturb us more than that.
The only regret is that we didn't meet in person !

Dom was a perfect host. He was friendly, nice, sweet, and concerned about his guests! We felt very comfortable talking to him. His communication is also perfect. I would say even more than perfect.

Dominic's flat is lovely - large, light, warm and in an attractive period building in a safe gated development. It's well located for the tube and DLR, and also well equipped. It's also exactly as photographed and described. Dominic himself was extremely helpful as well prompt at responding. We had no problems here whatsoever. There is a nearby railway which is audible in the flat but it wasn't loud and didn't keep us up at all. Also the development is quiet so overall there's probably less noise than you would get anywhere else in London - and it goes to show how well connected the apartment is!

The flat was very nice, just like in the photos, well located in a safe place and fully-equipped. Dominic is a very good host, cares all details and very attentive.
Although I only stayed in Dominic's flat for a couple days, the whole process was easy and an overall great experience. Getting to the flat was simple and check-in and out was even easier. Dominick was very kind and available whenever I needed his assistance - he made the whole process extremely simple and a pleasure. The flat itself is spacious and has all the amenities you would need. The underground is only a few minutes away and as well as the night bus, so it was simple to get to and from the flat. Would definitely recommend Dominic's flat!
This place is awesome!
Cozy, posh and with all the amenities one would need during the stay. It's situated in the nice and safe part of the London within couple minutes to the nearest tube station.
Loved all the little details that Dominic provided, such as welcome pack and ear plugs.
We didn't have a chance to meet in person, but Dominic was always available on phone or email to provide help to some basic questions I had.
