My group and I loved this place! We had 4 ppl, so split into the Rumi and Wayra room. The hosts were sweet, helpful, and somebody was always around to help. The rooms were warm, clean, and cute. The center area is also very cute. The bathroom is so wonderful!! It looks new and super clean, with very warm water at a great pressure. There was basic breakfast served in the morning. Thanks for hosting, we loved it!
Picaflor tambo compared to any other hostel we stayed in was god sent. For those who are young active, you can walk from the train station to the hostel in about 15 minutes. The main road seemed a bit sketchy but for two girls we did it just fine. The hostel is so precious from the moment you walk in. The hot water in the shower is actually hot... Scalding hot and so amazing compared to the luke warm or cold water we experienced everywhere else. The beds are comfy and clean. They even offer to do your laundry while you're out and about for 7 soles per kilo. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bread, papaya juice and coffee/tea. After a strenuous 50 mile hike to Machu Picchu, this is without a doubt where you want to stay. Even upon departure one of the women gave us a hug and a kiss on the cheek followed by the sweetest wishes for safe travels. She even gave us a tip not to spend more than 10 soles for a bus back to cusco. We don't regret a single penny spent for this room-it is well worth it.
Great place! The home-made breakfast is AWESOME. host will take care of you like a family member. The place is clean and beautifully decorated. I went to sleep with the sound of watering running through my ear. The owner Aurora and Antonio are super friendly and responsive. A great place to take a rest before Machu picchu.
