Our home is located in Canton - about 3 blocks away from the water. We have a 4-story townhouse with a deck that overlooks the water, downtown Baltimore and the Johns Hopkins hospital. (email hidden) to spend an evening especially after a day of running around.
We have a basement that is ready to be used as your gym- including treadmill, eliptical, weight machine and a tv so you can work out to a movie and/or the news. Our first floor is a cozy livingroom which is open to you during your stay. There is also a nice sized kitchen that you can use to store food and cook any meals you would like. Our second floor will be all yours- there are 2 bedrooms with closets and tv's and 1 bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and shower. You will either have the main bedroom to yourself with a shared bathroom if the other room is taken, or you can use both rooms - with the 2nd room being more of a den, where you can chill and read a book/watch tv or do yoga! The third floor is our floor with our own bedroom, bathroom and den. Then of course, you have the deck which you can use at your leisure.
There is great space for you in our home; there is street parking for your car(s) and we also have a very loving 10yo golden retriever named Maggie (who is great with strangers, does not bark, and loves children). The photograph of Maggie was taken at a local restaurant, about 2 blocks away.
Our home is 1 block from Canton Square, the center of our neighborhood where you have a small park. Here you will find a wide variety of shops and restaurants, to include sushi/thai, seafood, Mexican and several with pub offerings and American Bistro. And for dessert - frozen yoghurt, gelatto and of course, Dangerously Delicious Pies - oh so very good!
The famed Baltimore Water Taxi has a stop just three blocks from our home, where you can go to Fells Point, Harbor East, Inner Harbor, Downtown, Federal Hill, Locust Point and Fort McHenry. There is also a beautiful waterfront walking path linking these neighborhoods that is perfect for walking, jogging or biking.
There are plenty of buses and taxi's right in our neighborhood if you do not have access to a car or do not want to walk. We are also a few miles off I-95 which is only about a 10-15 minute drive from BWI airport. We have maps and routes all ready for you. Our place really is in a great area as it is located next to all the main attractions of Baltimore City including the Convention Center, M&T Bank Stadium, and the Powerplant.
We look forward to having you with us and will be accessible for any questions/suggestions.
Nothing out of the ordinary, mostly we just ask you to be courteous and respect our home.
No smoking inside.
Allowing pets are on a case by case basis. As much as we like cats, we are both allergic.
Please do not feed our dog, no matter what look she gives you - she is on a very strict diet designed to keep her happy and healthy for years to come.
Please be courteous in regards to noise levels. We are pretty quiet people.
All food should be kept in the kitchen.
This was an anniversary celebration, well-planned with the help of Chris and Siobain. It was a surprise for my wife, and and it worked out perfectly. The house reflects the many interests and travels of the hosts, everything is so lovingly displayed, and very comfortable. The rooftop deck gives you a 360 view of the city, from Key Bridge to the city scape. The neighborhood has an Italian-style piazza, with a park and a church on one end. Young and old were strolling, sitting, biking, rollerblading, enjoying Saturday night. Plenty of cozy restaurants and pubs around the square. A livable and walkable area. The Canton neighborhood gives you a sense of community. I wish our visit could have been longer. Last but not least, their dog Maggie was a wonderful "welcoming committee". It was a wonderful experience. We recommend this listing highly.
Siobain and Chris were wonderful hosts! I absolutely loved staying in Canton! The home is beautiful very clean spacious sunny and comfortable. It was wonderful to be able to walk around town and find such nice cafés and coffee shops. I look forward to visiting again!
Fantastic place in heart of Canton with Siobain & Chris! I felt right at home immediately after a long trip from Singapore. Already missing Maggie and the place!
Second visit. Worked out great as a place to stay on business in Canton and second time worked out great as well.
It's really a warm place with Chris and Siobain's hospitality. Already missed you you and Meggie. I especially love the tub which fixed my jet lag a little bit. Great location, near food and grocery like Safeway and Target. Restaurants and bars all around. Safe and quiet community. Would love stay again once got a chance. Can't help miss all of it.
Awesome house, decor, hosts. Great location, right by Canton Square, with lots of food and nightlife nearby.
Everything was perfect. Very friendly hosts. Very clean and comfortable house. Highly recommended.
My husband and I are living in Baltimore, MD. I am a Registered Nurse and work at Johns Hopkins Hospital as well as teaching in the School of Nursing. My husband is in Sales and works in soil aggregates with a focus on green roofs. He is also in the Towsontowne Rotary Club- which has allowed us to host nationals from several countries and helped encourage our travels abroad. We spent 3 weeks in Nepal with his Rotary group after they had sponsored an ambulance to a local Nepalese hospital.
We both have a passion for traveling and spent our honeymoon 2 years ago in Africa- we trekked in Rwanda with the mountain gorillas, toured through the Serengeti and chilled out after in Zanzibar. Between the 2 of us- we have been to all the continents- and are always looking forward to our next trip.
We were introduced to airbnb last year and have taken advantage of it by traveling and staying with hosts. We are now looking forward to having people stay in our home.
