The Space

Having holidays in Central London for money far below the Hotel prices is now possible. We have a medium spacious double bedroom to offer in a 2 bed flat located right in the centre of the centre of this great city. Have your own space to relax and rest after a hard day of sightseeing and be back in the middle of the action the next day. The room is a good size for 2 persons and has double bed in it. We also have a basic kitchen (equipped with kettle and hot plate only). Access to washing machine can be provided if you are staying for 7 days or more. The living space and WC is shared with a very respectable and friendly lady.

The Neighborhood

Staying here will affect you in terms of having no public transport cost at all. You are located right in the middle of the most vibrant and liveliest area in London, the West End. Almost everything is within minutes walking distance. Mayfair and Soho for clubbing and going out, Covent Garden, Regent Street and Oxford Street for shopping, linked to the usual sights: Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the London Eye. For museum lovers: The British Museum, The National Gallery, Somerset house are all just nearby. There are also countless restaurants, musicals, and theatres surrounding us!

Getting around

The closest tube stations are Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. Both are about 5mins walk away as we are squeezed right in the middle. There are also various bus lines and an unlimited flow of licensed taxis on Shaftesbury Avenue (1min walk), going to any other part of the city to which you desire. Public transport in this area is very convenient.

Other Things to Note

Central London is a busy place and there are people everywhere. So expect some noise. Ear plugs recommended if you are a light-sleeper. Also, the flat is on the 3rd floor of a walk-up building and the flat itself isn't that big. So if you are looking for 5-star luxury and space, you have come to the wrong listing. But if all this doesn't really bother you and you mainly want the convenience to stay in the middle of all the happenings, you are more than welcome. The location is perfect for out-and-about travellers.

Please Note: Make sure you are ok with the check-in/out times (same as most hotels in London). Towels provided upon request. If you want total privacy, please consider our other listing which is the same location. :)

Hope to see you soon in London, feel free to contact and book at all times!

  • First impressions of the room great - bigger than appears in the photo. Bed comfortable and the whole place clean and tidy. We didn`t hear the other resident at all - we were concerned not to be woken early as we didn`t get to bed till 4.30 am! Towels provided at very short notice by our very polite and informative host. My husband slept very well - he had the earplugs - and although it is not a quiet area, I slept better than expected (I can`t wear them!). Shower fine and I wasn`t expecting to be given complimentary toiletries! Only thing missing was a tea bag to put in the mugs provided. Thank you Allen - we definitely would stay again.

  • Room was great - small but cozy place to stay in a very vibrant area. Allen was great. Enjoyed it.

  • If you like to be next to night scenes, this is the place you are looking for, walking distance to drinking places and shopping street, super convenient! Ps: as long as you are not a light sleeper.

  • The room couldn't have been anymore convenient. While it was a bit noisy, we knew that in advance and brought earplugs and had no trouble sleeping.

    I'd definitely stay again.

  • This place has really great location.located in the center of the Chinatown. So maybe it gets noisy at night but after closing the window it should be fine. The room and bathroom is very clean. We love the cleanliness! And the host Allen was friendly and professional too.nothing to be complained as it's perfect for ppl who want to explore more on London.
Plenty of restaurants downstairs. Bistros and convenient stores.
Oh the room in fact is much bigger than it is in the photos. More than what we expected. Great!

  • Allen is really nice and friendly. His house is just on a great location. It`s noisy in the night, but if you bring ear plugs. And drink enough beer you will sleep fine.

  • We had a good and uncomplicated stay at Allen's very central place. Allen is a very good host, he met us in front of the house and explained us everything we had to know. Thanks again!

  • Do NOT stay here. I booked 3 nights but was only able to stay 1 because of the EXTREME noise, both outside and inside the building. My first impression of Allen was favorable. He was kind enough to help carry my
extra suitcase up the stairs when I arrived, but things went quickly downhill.

The room is located in China Town directly over 2 Chinese restaurants located on the ground level and up the first flight of stairs. In addition to the late night/early morning street noise from people yelling, garbage being taken out, and delivery trucks… the family who live one floor up from the flat began stomping around and vacuuming after 12:30 am. This went on for over an hour. Even with earplugs in and the window closed it was impossible to sleep. I am not a “light sleeper” and am an experienced traveler. There is no closet or desk in the room, the mattress is uncomfortable, there is barely room enough for 1 person with luggage, and Allen’s other tenant (a lovely lady) had a crock pot cooking the entire time I was there (which made the hot plate unavailable and created such a strong odor that she left the kitchen window permanently open because of the smell).

However, the primary reason I cannot recommend this property is because of the unprofessional and disrespectful manner is which Allen responded to my complaint. I emailed AirBnb first thing in the morning after a sleepless
night and left a handwritten note politely and clearly explaining the reasons I would not be using the remaining 2 nights. Unfortunately there was a tech problem with AirBnb and Allen did not receive the email. When I
contacted Allen the following week to follow up, he denied the very real problems and refused to accept ANY responsibility. He claimed that I did not let him know so he was therefore not responsible. When I sent him a PDF
of the dated email he disregarded it instead of being proactive in finding a reasonable and fair solution. For the record, AirBnb provided a refund and apology. Allen misrepresented his property and refused to be accountable in any way until AirBnb stepped in. If you have a legitimate problem, do not count on him handling it in a professional manner. If you are looking for a comfortable and reasonably quiet place to stay, this is not it.

  • Just as described, the location is perfect. I barely needed to use the oyster card around there. The neighborhood is absolutely vibrant and lively all the time. Allen is very nice and flexible host. The street has some people walking around at night, yet it was not the problem for me to stay. You spend most of your time outside so... Recommended! Plus, if you have any plan to see musicals, it can't be better!

  • I stayed one night at Allen's place and had a great experience. The room is exactly as pictured, and is spotlessly clean. The location is central to the nightlife, restaurants and bars, and very close to the Piccadily metro stop which you can take to get to Heathrow. Allen himself was a very warm, considerate and professional host, who made sure we were comfortable and gave us some good recommendations for restaurants nearby. The only issue was that there was lots of noise downstairs which could be heard from the room -- bring earplugs as Allen recommends! Apart from that, I would wholeheartedly recommend staying at Allen's place.

Always busy at work during the week. Love quiet nights in and enjoy travelling whenever I get the chance. If not, a trip down the local coffee shop will do.
