About this listing
Whether your group size is 1 or 10, we can put you up. There are 4 rooms at Casa de Suenos, each listed separately to allow groups to choose the combination of rooms that will best meet your needs.
Kokopelli is the largest room in the B & B. It has a king bed in the main room, a single bed in a separate alcove off the main room and there is a rollaway for the 4th bed, although rollaways are not the most comfy option. There is a private bathroom in the room with a walk-in shower. There is a private exterior door and an interior door that leads to the rest of the house. The exterior entrance leads to a private patio with a water feature.
This room is located in the main house, adjoins a common living room and the guest kitchenette area.
We are an active Bed and Breakfast with 4 rooms that can sleep up to 10 people. For groups requiring more than 1 room, please contact us.
We are located in a rural residential neighborhood just outside El Paso TX. This is a great location for people who want to experience desert living. It is extremely quiet and there are no stores, restaurants or shops within walking distance. You definitely need a vehicle when staying with us.
We are located just outside El Paso, about 15 minutes from the Outlet Mall, and within 3 hours of Carlsbad Caverns, 1 hour 40 minutes from White Sands, 45 minutes from Mesilla, 35 minutes from Fort Bliss and the El Paso airport.
The house is a typical hacienda style home built around a central courtyard and has a definite Southwest ambiance You can hike in the desert, go for a horseback ride and experience the wonderful night sky vistas from the huge back patio.
Check in time is between 3 - 7 pm. If you need an arrival time outside of this time frame, please mention that in your request.
Guests are welcome to use the public spaces of the house - living room, dining room, courtyard and huge back patio.
Interaction with Guests
We live on site, so we are available to guests should they have questions. We enjoy getting to know our guests so if you want some company sitting on the back patio, we can certainly provide that, and Peanut loves to do walks in the desert.
Our neighborhood is very quiet - a good place to connect with nature. There are the occasional four wheelers going by, but other than that you can hear birds and enjoy the quiet of the desert.
You definitely need a vehicle here. We are miles from public transport, restaurants and grocery stores. It takes about 15 minutes to get to a grocery store. Our sandy roads are not suitable for motorcycles or mountain bikes. Sorry!
Check in by 7 pm
Quiet time is 10 pm
Because of our desert location, we ask no doors be left open.
Microwave and small refrigerator in central location for guests. No access to main kitchen (sorry licensing doesn't allow this)
This is not a pet room.
Marlene was the epitome of a great host. Everything was great. Nice n quiet like I like it.
Marlene's place is beautifully located in the desert just outside El Paso. If you are visiting El Paso, and do not want to stay in the city, this is the ideal place for you. Quite, clean, beautifully furnished, with every amenity that you would require for a short or extended stay. You get beautiful views of the mountains and are a 15 minute drive from the heart of El Paso. Marlene is a very generous host and will provide you with a lovely breakfast to get you going every morning. Highly recommended.
Marlene was an excellent host, flexible, sociable and welcoming. She was knowledgeable and was happy to give advice upon request. The accomodation was excellent, clean, comfortable and spacious. The outside area was amazing, beautiful setting to have breakfast looking out over El Paso and the Mexican mountains on the horizon!
This was my second stay at the Casa de Suenos. Marlene is a fine hostess. The property was exactly the same as last year…just as good! The setting is very quiet, as it is away from populated areas.
Casa de Suenos is a wonderful Santa Fe style southwest property. The courtyard and the back porch are especially nice at breakfast time. There is a lovely little southwest garden in the back as well.
I stayed in the Kokopelli room….it is spacious and just right for three people, since there is an anteroom with an extra bed. The room also has a small porch. I had two wonderful desert evenings reading there.
I highly recommend Casa de Suenos for anyone wishing to have a southwest desert experience while at the same time being near to the city. I like to hike, and the Franklin Mountains and the Organ Mountains are nearby. I was also able to enjoy New Mexico style food in the La Mesilla area.
I highly recommend Casa de Suenos!

About the Host, Marlene
For the last 10 years, my husband and I have been running a Bed and Breakfast - Casa de Suenos, on the edge of open desert in a residential community in NM, but just outside El Paso TX.
I enjoy meeting people from all over the world and since I don't get to travel any more, I love hearing the stories from our guests.
I maintain the house and 3 acres our B & B is built on. That is a pretty full time job, but I enjoy making the grounds a true desert experience for our guests.
In terms of guests, we have had the most wonderful guests at our B & B. We are pretty laid back and live in a quiet residential area in the middle of the desert. We appreciate guests who like to connect with nature, are respectful of mother earth and appreciate the quiet of the desert.
