Jake and Hanna Wackerman are the owners of 1850 Restaurant, and The Loft @ 1850~ Jake's restaurant career started at the age of 13 washing dishes at a local steakhouse in his home town of Mariposa. By sixteen Jake began dreaming and telling people of owning his own restaurant. Twelve restaurants later and several other job experiences (ranging from graphic design to laboring for a telephone company) led him to San Luis Obispo where he met his future wife and business partner Hanna. Hanna also had a passion for the food and beverage industry. She grew up working in her uncle's restaurant at age 9 in Templeton, California. She too dreamed of owning her own business one day. An ongoing conversation and vision for their own restaurant quickly unfolded. An opportunity presented itself in April of 2013 for the couple to move back to Mariposa and make their dream a reality. 1850 opened its doors to the public in May and has proudly been serving quality, fresh food to the locals of Mariposa and tourists from all over the world ever since. Jake and Hanna were married at 1850 Restaurant in 2014. They live right around the corner from the restaurant and The Loft and are happy to help if you need anything during your stay!
