About this listing
Spacious bright bedroom in the annex of a traditional house
Basic (similar to a hostel room) but very quiet and private room.
It is a big double bedroom with easy access to a private bathroom in our annex with double aspect views towards our green, lush (slightly wild) back garden. This annex is more or less detached and a small internal walkway away from the main house. Please note there is no separate entrance for our back room and you share the entrance with the main house. This space is ideal if you require a more private setting to relax.
Simple and basic, but comfortable and very tranquil a place to sleep & rest after a long day driving, cycling, exploring and sightseeing. As this room is very spacious we can provide one (or if even two) extra single bed(s) if you require. Essentials like Linen, towels and a few extras will be provided.
In the main room you will find a small hospitality tray for your convenience. Please ask us if you need more supplies ie. towels, blankets or a space heater for some warmth in case the room gets too cold.
Please note: Due its construction/location this room is only available from May to November (permitting weather conditions). Our old humble house is in need of repair and most of our proceeds go into our restoration fund. Your time here will be very appreciated in boosting some funding.
The house is located close to the centre of town and a short walk from public transport (main bus stop). Private, secure car parking is available on private lane way at the main house.
Shopping facilities, Restaurants, Cafes and Pubs are all nearby within walking distance.
Please contact us for more details. You're welcome here!
Full access to our kitchen and sitting room in the main house; please feel free to cook, relax, watch TV or grab a book from the library for some reading. WiFi access via a router is available in main house. Weather permitting roaming and enjoying the nature settings around the house is encouraged as well.

We could not initially find the house but via the telephone guidance of John we arrived anyway.
We received a warm welcome with tea and stories of John.
Julia was very helpful and gave us lots of tips what we could see in the area, we also received detailed maps along.
Our room was quite spacious with a good bed. it was a bit chilly and damp (due to weather), but with the electric heater was still comfortable.
My host, John, was kind enough to wait for me in the rain when I arrived, and the bus was about 20 minutes late!
The house was eclectic and and charming, my room spacious and lovely. They left out fruit and flowers for me!
This is a great place to stay.
Hostel type lodging. Basics with "take us how we are" vibe. Not a fresh crisp B&B, bit of clutter. Very lived in. Close to centre of town. Friendly hosts. Bruno the dog is friendly and loveable.
We had a good time in Donegal; Julia en John where very kind and helped us with good information for walking the Blue stack way; giving us a taxidrive was very nice! Fine place to stay, the swimming pool is interesting, clean room/sanitair with a lot of space. Quit surrounding.
Nous avons été très bien accueilli par julia et John. John a été de très bons conseils pour notre périple dans le donegal. Julia nous a initié à la cuisine locale. Nous avons passé une dernière soirée conviviale avec eux.
