Are you looking for a cozy and comfortable place to stay, located in the heart of Essaouira’s medina and with beautiful views on the ocean and medina? This is your place to be!
The space
The complete house has walls of sleek tadelakt (the Moroccan traditionally polished lime-plaster), each floor in its own colour, giving the house its own natural and peaceful atmosphere, and eventually leading to the name Amangani which means “peaceful home”.
Guests have the house to themselves, although private rooms of the owner are locked (on the 2nd and 4th floor). During rental periods the owner is not living in the house.
Guest access
The entire 1st floor (the blue floor) is available for the guests.
The bedroom has a double-bed with summer/winter duvet, free fiber optic internet and a HD-tv including Amazon Prime.
There is a separate spacious bathroom on the same floor.
On the 3rd floor (the grey and white floor) guests have access to the living room and the kitchen.
The rooftop terrace on the 5th floor is the real gem of the house, from where you have beautiful views over the Atlantic ocean and Essaouira’s ancient medina.
With a lounge sofa and two sunbeds, it’s a perfect and quiet place to enjoy the sun, curl up with a good book or just enjoy the view while listening to the sound of the waves.
Other things to note
- To access the terrace on the 5th floor a relatively good health is required, there is no elevator, only staircases.
- Although Amangani is situated in a relatively quiet street, do realize that it’s still the medina where you don’t have the silence of the country life. People live very close to each other and you will hear the daily street life. During the night all medina streets are cleaned by garbage men with rolling trash cans. For this, earplugs could be useful if you are a light sleeper.
And ofcourse, please do respect the house rules:
- No visitors are allowed
- No smoking is allowed inside the house, on the terrace no problem
- Please do respect the house and everything inside!
