This chic and cool studio apartment in a charming Victorian home in Cole Valley merges the best of San Francisco, with classic 19th century architecture on the exterior, and a newly remodeled, beautiful studio apartment that features mod design and a cheerful and vibrant color scheme in the interior. (See notes on parking in last paragraph below)
Adjacent to the queen-size canopy bed there is a little nook of a room with sunny window and the absolute cutest twin bed, outfitted with colorful linens, a sweet reading lamp, and charming framed prints and paintings by local artists.
There is also a couch that opens to a full-size bed, which is very comfortable with a mattress topper. All in all, there are two beds (one queen, one twin), and a couch that can open to a bed. It can sleep 5 people easily, maybe 6 if two small ones squeeze onto the twin bed. If you have an infant, I also have a co-sleeper crib with sheets.
There is a fully outfitted kitchen with 4 stools and retro-chic tableware, perfect for cocktails. And speaking of cocktails, the neighborhood is lovely if you like great food and cocktails. A close walk to Cole Street, you can feast on gourmet tacos and drinks at local favorite Padrecito, topping it off with caramelized honey, creme fraiche and roasted pineapple sundaes at the Ice Cream Bar, also a fan favorite on Cole Street.
And if you worry you may have over-indulged, you can run (or stroll) it off the next morning with a circuit around nearby Golden Gate Park, featuring miles of gorgeous paths, and amazing museums like the Academy of Sciences and the DeYoung Museum. And if you're traveling with kids, there's a playground across the street (Grattan Playground), and an even more deluxe playground a short stroll away in Golden Gate Park.
The apartment has free wifi, a delightful new shower, and fully equipped kitchen. It is a ground floor apartment, but the entire home is two flights of stairs above the street, so it's very light, and very private, with the only people passing by being other inhabitants of the house.
We are relaxed, happy hosts-- here to help if you need it, and invisible if you prefer to relax without interruption. It is a fun, cheerful, and inspiring home, perfect for a vacation holiday. We love our home and hope you will, too.
If you have to mix pleasure with business, we're an eight minute walk to UCSF [Hospital], and a block and a half away from the MUNI N-Train which takes you straight downtown to work (and to shopping in Union Square and the Embarcadero), and 1 block away from multiple bus lines. If you are working down in Silicon Valley, the (website hidden), Genentech, Tesla, etc. shuttles all pick up within a couple blocks, as do the shuttle buses to UCSF Mission Bay.
In terms of getting to the apartment from the airport, you can take a cab here, a bus, the Super Shuttle (a very inexpensive, great way to get here-- just (website hidden) "Super Shuttle" to check fares and schedule a pick-up/ drop-off), or the MUNI train (it's right on the N line-- towards Ocean Beach if you're coming from downtown/ Civic Center; the N-Judah if you're coming from the other direction. Our stop is "Stanyan Street"). Getting here with public transportation is very inexpensive and very easy. You just take BART to the Civic Center stop from the airport, and transfer to the MUNI "N" line, going toward Ocean Beach. Our stop is Stanyan Street (at the intersection of Stanyan and Carl streets).
We are extremely close to multiple MUNI stops (San Francisco's public transportation system), so public transportation is easy, cheap and plentiful. However, if you're driving, please note that while we do not have a parking spot, it's a fairly easy neighborhood to find free parking in. However, while parking is free, it is not unlimited. They ticket every two hours from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, so you need to either move your car by 10 am (not too hard, there are usually spots to be found, and most people start their day by then anyway), or park in a nearby parking lot (there are a couple lots within a 10 minute walk where you can pay to park all day, should you want to leave your car at home for the day. There are also some streets nearby (Rivoli Street, for example) where you can park round the clock for free and they don't ticket, but you have to search a bit for them.
Welcome to our home, we are happy to have you here! While this is a self-contained unit with its own entrance, it is still a private home with a family living above. Please be quiet in the evening/ morning when leaving and returning home, as sound travels easily, and we don't want to deprive anyone of their sleep and sense of privacy. We expect kindness and respect, no crazy loud parties at all hours of the night, absolutely no smoking inside or out, and just general thoughtfulness.
As for “house rules,” we are happy to have your friends over, so long as everyone is respectful of the property and it doesn’t get too loud/ raucous. There is absolutely no smoking, either inside or outside. In general, other than the no tolerance ban on smoking, just do as you would have others do in your own home, and leave the place as clean and tidy as you found it when you arrived. In other words, just be nice. ;-)
Stacey was an excellent host. The apartment was as described, clean and tidy and in a great location for a weekend in San Francisco. It's in a lovely neighborhood, really close to GG Park and very convenient for the Muni transport system, around 20 minutes ride to the Downtown areas. All the information provided was useful and correct, including some great local restaurant recommendations! I would definitely recommend Stacey and this apartment for anyone looking for a reasonably priced weekend in the city.
My family of three had a wonderful time staying here. The location was quiet and lovely and just a short walk to the grocery store, Golden Gate Park and all of the interesting and various shops and restaurants of Cole Valley and Haight Ashbury. The apartment was clean and crisp and a wonderful base for our few days of exploring. My daughter absolutely loved having her own little nook and took pleasure in setting up her various stuffed animals and drawing materials in "her space." Stacey's e-manual and binder on site made it incredibly easy to know everything from how to get on wifi to where to look for free street parking. Her shop and restaurant suggestions were great - we loved the shop Tantrum! Thank you once again for sharing your home and allowing my return to San Francisco to feel like the real neighborhood experience I missed!
Stacey's apartment was so cute and in a great family neighborhood with fantastic food options. The location was convenient, safe and is easy to find. It was very clean, well equipped, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. One thing to be noted is that this apartment does not have a tv, but this didn't bother us since we were out all day and exhausted by the time we got back! I would definitely recommend this charming apartment to anyone looking to stay in San Francisco.
I traveled with a friend of mine to San Francisco for a long weekend, and we had a great stay at Stacey's apartment. It's just a short walk from Haight street, where there are a bunch of cool shops, restuarants, and bars - including Amoeba Records and also a really nice Whole Foods. It's a bit of a trek to get downtown to the more touristy stuff, but doable by public transport - it just takes a while. The apartment is located near a bunch of Muni stops, so it's very easy to get around. The space itself was perfect - the kitchen was great for putting together a quick breakfast in the morning. We arrived before check-in time, and Stacey was very accomodating - though we couldn't get into the room yet, we were able to drop off and lock up our luggage so we could explore the city before we got settled in the apartment. Definitely recommend this place!
From the very first time we contact Stacey the experience was excellent. Always super helpful and quick to respond whenever we have questions or queries. The apartment was spotless and extremely well presented. As well as this it was located in a nice area that was very close and accessible to the rest of the city. Will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in SF
Despite the crummy weather in San Francisco during our stay at Stacey's place, I found the location great and I really enjoyed our stay at her place. The place was fully furnished, and had all the amenities that we required during the freak storm that we experienced. Although I never had a chance to meet Stacey due to our hectic schedule, I found all the info left by Stacey was very thorough and we were able to navigate the city just fine. Public transportation was very accessible, with the light rail and bus less than 2 blocks away. In addition, if you are considering bringing your car there is a public parking area that is less than 4 blocks away and is quite affordable compared to most of the typical parking areas around SF.
For those looking for a truly local SF experience, I highly recommend Stacey's place as a great way to experience the city.
the apartment is very good, very well located, clean and provides every things that you need. We enjoy our stay and recomend that.
