About this listing
This chic and cool studio apartment in a charming Victorian home in Cole Valley merges the best of San Francisco, with classic 19th century architecture on the exterior, and a newly remodeled, beautiful studio apartment that features mod design and a cheerful and vibrant color scheme in the interior. (SEE NOTES ON PARKING IN LAST PARAGRAPH BELOW)
Adjacent to the queen-size canopy bed there is a little nook of a room with sunny window and the absolute cutest twin bed, outfitted with colorful linens, a sweet reading lamp, and charming framed prints and paintings by local artists.
There is also a couch that opens to a full-size bed, which is very comfortable with a mattress topper. All in all, there are two beds (one queen, one twin), and a couch that can open to a bed. It can sleep 5 people easily, maybe 6 if two small ones squeeze onto the twin bed. If you have an infant, I also have a co-sleeper crib with sheets.
There is a fully outfitted kitchen with 4 stools and retro-chic tableware, perfect for cocktails. And speaking of cocktails, the neighborhood is lovely if you like great food and cocktails. A close walk to Cole Street, you can feast on gourmet tacos and drinks at local favorite Padrecito, topping it off with caramelized honey, creme fraiche and roasted pineapple sundaes at the Ice Cream Bar, also a fan favorite on Cole Street.
And if you worry you may have over-indulged, you can run (or stroll) it off the next morning with a circuit around nearby Golden Gate Park, featuring miles of gorgeous paths, and amazing museums like the Academy of Sciences and the DeYoung Museum. And if you're traveling with kids, there's a playground across the street (Grattan Playground), and an even more deluxe playground a short stroll away in Golden Gate Park.
The apartment has free wifi, a delightful new shower, and fully equipped kitchen. It is a ground floor apartment, but the entire home is two flights of stairs above the street, so it's very light, and very private, with the only people passing by being other inhabitants of the house.
We are relaxed, happy hosts-- here to help if you need it, and invisible if you prefer to relax without interruption. It is a fun, cheerful, and inspiring home, perfect for a vacation holiday. We love our home and hope you will, too.
If you have to mix pleasure with business, we're an eight minute walk to UCSF [Hospital], and a block and a half away from the MUNI N-Train which takes you straight downtown to work (and to shopping in Union Square and the Embarcadero), and 1 block away from multiple bus lines. If you are working down in Silicon Valley, the (website hidden), Genentech, Tesla, etc. shuttles all pick up within a couple blocks, as do the shuttle buses to UCSF Mission Bay.
In terms of getting to the apartment from the airport, you can take a cab here, a bus, the Super Shuttle (a very inexpensive, great way to get here-- just (website hidden) "Super Shuttle" to check fares and schedule a pick-up/ drop-off), or the MUNI train (it's right on the N line-- towards Ocean Beach if you're coming from downtown/ Civic Center; the N-Judah if you're coming from the other direction. Our stop is "Stanyan Street"). Getting here with public transportation is very inexpensive and very easy. You just take BART to the Civic Center stop from the airport, and transfer to the MUNI "N" line, going toward Ocean Beach. Our stop is Stanyan Street (at the intersection of Stanyan and Carl streets).
The apartment is extremely close to multiple MUNI stops (San Francisco's public transportation system), so public transportation is easy, cheap and plentiful. However, if you're driving, please note that while I don't have a parking spot, it's a fairly easy neighborhood to find free parking in. However, while parking is free, it is not unlimited. They ticket every two hours from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, so you need to either move your car by 10 am (not too hard, there are usually spots to be found, and most people start their day by then anyway), or park in a nearby parking lot (Kezar Parking Lot is within a 10 minute walk down the street on Stanyan near Frederick Street, and you can pay to park all day for ~$20-~25 for 24 hours, should you want to leave your car there for the day). There are also some streets nearby (Rivoli street, for example) where you can park round the clock for ~48 hours for free and they don't ticket, but you have to search a bit for those spots as everyone wants them. Always take care not to block anyone's driveway, and to read the street parking signs/ restrictions, so you don't accidentally leave your car on a street where there is a scheduled street cleaning.
Welcome to our home, we are happy to have you here! While this is a self-contained unit with its own entrance, it is still a private home with a family living above. Please be quiet in the evening/ morning when leaving and returning home, as sound travels easily, and we don't want to deprive anyone of their sleep and sense of privacy. We expect kindness and respect, no crazy loud parties at all hours of the night, absolutely no smoking inside or out, and just general thoughtfulness.
As for “house rules,” we are happy to have your friends over, so long as everyone is respectful of the property and it doesn’t get too loud/ raucous. There is absolutely no smoking, either inside or outside. In general, other than the no tolerance ban on smoking, just do as you would have others do in your own home, and leave the place as clean and tidy as you found it when you arrived. In other words, just be nice. ;-)

The house is same as the pictures: clean, convenient, useful and nice. We had 4 great days there. We had everything needed under our hands. The house is in a safe region and is only 2 blocks away to Muni (San Francisco transportation system). You can walk to Golde Gate Park, Haight Ashbury and so on. Stacey is an excellent host. She helped us to find great restaurants, markets and more. İf you choose to live there you will not regret.
Wir hatten eine angenehme Zeit in Stacey's Appartement. Es war alles so wie beschrieben. Es war sauber, ruhig und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. WIr würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten.
We really enjoyed our stay at Stacey's place. He was super helpful and friendly and the apartment was just as listed. Also the location is excellent.
My parents stayed here for an evening, and they really enjoyed their stay. I've never really hung out in this neighborhood, but it looked great from what I could tell when I drove by to pick them up. Stacey made it easy for them to come by, drop in and leave as they pleased.
We really enjoyed our stay at Stacey's place. It was convenient to everything we wanted to do and see. We ended up walking to the Golden Gate Bridge and over to the Fisherman's Wharf. It was a few miles but very nice and safe. The place is as described and very clean. Stacey was attentive and helped us with any questions. It was a good experience and I'd recommend it to anyone who, after looking at the listing, feels it is going to work for them. It did work for us.
