Our cabin comfortably fits for two and is located on quiet place. The biggest fresh water river in Iceland Brúará is 200 meters walk.
On the way to the Golden Circle, Thingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss you can make a stop over at our wonderful and cosy little cabin for two in the middle of the wild Icelandic nature.
The cabin is not big but it is cosy and it has what you need for a stay. There is 1 room with a double bed and it is directly connected to the kitchen. You can have two separate beds if desired. The cabin has electricity, hot and cold water and a toilet but not a shower or a bath. You can use the outdoor terrace with a hot tub when you want to relax and here you get the view that everyone dream of when they are going to Iceland. You will find the mountains in the background and the wilderness in front of you.
If you like to go swimming you can go to either Laugarvatn or Reykholt where there are public pools with the famous Icelandic hot tubs.
The cabin is located one hour drive away from Reykjavik. 20 minutes drive from Thingvellir and only 10-15 minutes drive to Geysir and Gullfoss.
Feel free to use the hot tub when you want to relax. Also we have a outdoor grill (BBQ). In the bigger house we have shower, shampoo, soap and extra towels.
Guests arriving are kindly requested to inform the guesthouse in advance what time they will show up.
Feel free to use gas grill and barbecue.
Please do not smoke inside the cabin, we have ashtray outside.
Please wash dishes, glasses and other material you use during your stay.
We arrived at Magga and Siggi's gorgeous wooden cabin on our first night in Iceland. It proved to be a wonderful place to start the holiday! They're very well located near some of the Golden Circle's main attractions (the geysirs and the Gullfoss waterfall were a short drive away) and yet it was off the beaten track and clear-skyed! Magga was wonderful and gave us all the GPS coordinates to reach them easily, and we were welcomed by Siggi on arrival. The hot tub is top class. We spent two hours in it enjoying the snowy surroundings and not believing we were a few hours from London. Unusually for Iceland it's not sulphuric-smelling at all, as Siggi has ingeniously engineered it to contain clear water that gets heated by the springs, as opposed to spring water directly! Magga had ensured our little cabin had all the breakfast amenities one could need - ham, eggs, cheese, teas, milk, cereal, fruit… great attention to detail, I would absolutely go back, and recommend this place to anyone. FIVE *!
My fiance and I spent one night at the cabin and had a wonderful experience! One of our favourites of our whole Iceland trip. The cabin was exactly what we had hoped it would be - cute and cozy. Lounging in the outdoor hot tub surrounded by beautiful scenery was truly one of the best moments of the trip. The hosts were absolutely lovely, warm people. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it!
We only spend one Night, but it is absolutly worth it. Having such hart warming and gentle hosts is wonderfull!
We'd back there anytime!!
Thanks tho the both of you!!!!
This was the best experience! Will recommend to anyone who will listen! Fantastic company, very helpful, and we loved! The hot tub! Even made us a great meal after we got stuck in a snow storm!
Wonderful cozy cabin for one night. Margret was a gracious host. She left a tray of snacks in the fridge as well as an assortment of teas. There was quite a bit of snow, while we were there, but no trouble at all getting back to main roads as her husband led the way. She also kindly cleared snow off of our car that morning. It was a wonderful stay! Thanks so much!
Beautiful area and perfect location to easily visit nearby attractions and see the Northern Lights! Margret is a great host who looks after her guests very much. Thank you!
My name is Margret. My husband is a sailor and stays at see for 5-6 weeks in a row. We both like to stay at our summerhouse and hope you will enjoy your stay at the small house next to it.
