Here are the details:
The layout is a two-room studio. The first room has two huge south-facing windows, 12 foot ceilings, and a faux-fireplace. It serves as a bed/living combo.

The bathroom is also newly renovated (new shower, toilet, vanity+mirror, extra toiletries, and hair dryer).
We provide fluffy towels and high threadcount sheets/linens.
There is a brand new furnace exclusive to the unit that you control and the unit has a large window A/C unit to keep it cool.
The space is ideal for one person, a couple, or close friends as the queen bed and full-size futon are in the same room.
There are two wooden wardrobes for clothing and coats.

This apartment is not for you if:
You do not like eclectic, urban settings.
You require a yard.
Your daily (and nightly) habits are possibly noisy and/or disruptive [the apartment is located above a 9-5 business/office].
You are not capable of climbing stairs [there is one flight up to the 2nd floor unit].
You require a bathtub. The bathroom is fully renovated with a lovely new and spacious shower stall.
You require 100% quiet to sleep. There is some light traffic noise from Penn Ave.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this apartment. We'd love to host you in Pittsburgh!
The guests will have access to the full unit. The only thing off limits is the massage table (unless you have scheduled a massage) which is stored in one of the closets.
We like to greet guests at the door if we are home, but often due to scheduling we have a system for guests to let themselves in. We are always available via text, phone, and email. We often check in once or twice during a stay via text just to make sure everything is OK, but other than that we let our guests set the tone in terms of how much communication they would like to have with us. We are always up for meeting new people, and have even dined with guests at our favorite restaurants, but we know that most often people are looking to relax, do their own thing, and not socialize. We respect our guests privacy and try to keep communication channels open and efficient.
We love our eclectic and diverse neighborhood. Garfield has many art galleries and installations, restaurants, and businesses. It's an area that has seen much revitalization recently, but there are still buildings that are boarded up on our block. We are also experiencing construction on the main street at the moment. We feel that the neighborhood is a great asset to our location, but realize it might not be for everyone.
We live right on the 88 bus line that makes it super easy to get downtown and the strip district. Since one side of our street is closed at the moment, there is a detour for the return bus but it is not a far walk to the apartment. Uber and Lyft have also just launched in Pittsburgh and we are excited that these services can help make transportation better for our guests!
Massage Therapy Add On:
Kate is a licensed massage therapist, and she offers in-unit 60 or 90 minute Swedish or Deep Tissue massage sessions if scheduling permits. If you are interested in booking a massage during your stay feel free to message us for more details.

great apt! bigger then it appears in the pictures. great host and was a wonderful home away from home. when we come back to pittsburgh we will definitely be looking to stay again in this studio. loved it!
We had an amazing stay at the Sunny Studio, and Kate and Nik were fabulous hosts. They went the extra mile to take care of things giving great directions and thinking of the little things one might need. We easily traveled downtown on the 88 bus to take in the sites and attend a Pittsburg Penguins game. The studio is just as beautiful as it is in the pictures, a sunny oasis from the streets of Pittsburg. We would definitely recommend staying here.
I found Kate and Nik's Sunny Urban Studio quite lovely. The unit was comfortable and homey. There was a lot of construction on Penn ave, so navigating the street was challenging but not difficult. I would definitely return to the Sunny Urban Studio.
Our two night stay at Kate and Nik's was very nice and exactly as expected. The apartment and neighborhood is as described and is very well kept and comfortable. No surprises! We didn't spend much time in the room since this was our first time visiting Pittsburgh and there was much to explore, but if we had, we would have had everything we needed to make our selves at home. It's a big studio, with plenty of room to spread out. The mattress is firm, but still comfortable. The fridge and pantry was sparse, so make sure to bring the cream and sugar or go for a quick trip to the market on your way in. There was plenty of hot water in the shower along with plenty of water pressure to enjoy.
Penn Ave. was under construction so there wasn't much street traffic, which made our stay nice and quiet. The neighborhood is in transition and there are many closed store fronts and construction but we found there are plenty of places within walking distance, never the less. I recommend "Cafe Mona la bistro" for brunch. It's about a half mile west on Penn Ave., and they have a cool spot and awesome menu.
We didn't get to meet Kat and Nik but Kate responded to emails and texts promptly, so I'm sure they would be very responsive if needed. I would definitely stay here again!
Just as advertised - Very cute place. Convenient and comfortable. My stay only lasted one night, but the studio is equipped with more than enough stuff for a longer stay. Would definitely consider staying here again!
The apartment is just as pictured. Very clean, large, and comfortable. The way our schedules worked out, Kate and Nik and I didn't see each other, but the communication was good and there were no problems with logistics.
We had a wonderful stay at Kate and Nik's place. Their studio apartment is cheerful and comfortable--exactly what it looks like in the pictures! There was plenty of space for the two of us, and our hosts made sure that we had everything we needed, from extra blankets in the wardrobe to tea in the kitchen. The building is in a great location; it's not too far from the Strip District, where we enjoyed an amazing breakfast at Pamela's. You might hear some street noise early in the morning, and the apartment is sunny indeed, so if you're a light sleeper like I am, I'd recommend packing earplugs and an eye mask--that worked well for me.
The apartment is so private that (unfortunately!) we never ran into Kate and Nik. But Kate was always a text away, kindly checking in on us and offering recommendations should we need them. They've also put together a great resource binder for the unseasoned Pittsburgh traveler. There were even note cards, envelopes, and stamps in the apartment, in case we wanted to write to friends or family! These sweet little touches attest to the care these two take to make sure their guests feel comfortable and at home.
This is an excellent accommodation option. The apartment is as beautiful as it appears in the picture. I was alone but a couple could very happily stay and cook in the kitchen etc. It would be a great apartment to hang out in. If you're a light sleeper you may get woken by either traffic or general street noise but this is all mentioned in the listing. It's not a loud neighbourhood but not a quiet one either. Kate was very helpful with instructions and easy to get hold of. More generally, Pittsburgh is a surprisingly cool city and people are very, very nice.
Some friends and I sent the wives here for a girls overnight. They loved it. Kate was extremely helpful and so prompt in responding. The ladies said the place was "so cute" (their words not mine) and cozy. Would definitely return again and I think its a great value.
Hosts were very helpful, esp. with my unusual requests. Apartment was darling, with old wood floors and nice sunlight.
