This location was really good. Close to the subway, main bus station and shops. The appartment was easy to find thanks to the great directions and photos Miyo provided us with. The appartment complex was grubby but the appartment itself was decent. Check in and out was simple and Pierre was there to help us when we first arrived. They had wifi but at times it was very slow. The bathroom wasn't very well kept and quite small. Both Miyo and Pierre were very responsive and helped us whenever we needed. On our first night they even took us out to where Pierre DJs and we had a few drinks with them. On other occasions during our stay they invited us out with them as well but unfortunately my girlfriend and I were both sick at the time. This place is a pretty good value for a short stay.
Staying at Pierre's and Miyo's place was really great.
About the place :
The room and the flat are nice, with everything you need.
It's really quiet at night, and that's a guy with really serious sleep problems talking, so believe me : if I say it's quiet enough, you'll have no problem at all to sleep.
The location is perfect : it's very close to the subway, which takes you to to downtown Beijing in ~ 15 minutes (depending on where you're heading). Beijing subway is only 2 Yuans a ride, Beijing buses are only 1 Yuan a ride, so clearly being dependant on the subway or buses to go home each night is not going to cost you a lot of money. There are convinient stores just near the flat as well. Also, this district is a chinese restaurants paradise, so you'll find top places to eat just nearby.
Dongzhimen (the district in which the flat is located) also has a huge long-distance buses hub, wich is really convinient to go to the Great Wall (which every tourist in Beijing should do !)
About Pierre and Miyo : they're really the best hosts you can hope for :
They took time to have lunch or dinner with us a few times
Pierre took us also to cosy bars he was performing
They were really keen on adding little extras to the room, after having asked us how we found the place : an extra mattress layer of it to be softer, an extra bedside lamp, etc.
They gave us lots and lots of tips about things to do in Beijing, nice spots to see, nice districts to hang out in
They helped us a lot with the shitty and useless (but compulsory) administrative registration tourists have to comply to.
They're really nice, friendly, funny and welcoming.
We really loved our stay at their place, I highly recommend it.
Miyo and Pierre were wonderful hosts. Very easy going and happy for us to do our own thing, but very happy to provide advice when needed. The location is excellent, right next to a metro station, a big supermarket, and ghost street where there are many restaurants. The apartment is quite large, and the bedroom fine. They took us out for a night of dinner and drinks which was a lot of fun. Thanks!
Great location, clean room and helpful hosts. Mylo answered immediately which was a lifesaver and Pierre, her boyfriend, helped us find the best place to eat for the night. I hope to see him play next time!
The host was friendly, he received us at 3am. The room was ok but the bathroom was dirty and the shower broken, we had to use one hand to hang up the shower.
Pros: Location. Next to the subway station wherein is possible to take the express to airport.
If the bathroom is fixed, I would come back.
Miyo's place is great value and extremely handy if you want to get from CBD to the airport. Room was clean and Miyo very helpful. She even ordered lunch for me and lent me blue rays to watch. Please bear in mind that this a value proposition so don't expect a brand new building.
Miyo and Pierre were nice. They met us when we arrived, which was past 1:00 am already Beijing time.
Their location is awesome - it's so convenient to go to the mall (Raffles) and take the subway from there. Less than 5 minutes walk. We chose this place because of the location and we were satisfied in that sense.
The room was small but had enough space for our things. The bed and comforters were comfortable enough for winter. The bathroom was quite a challenge as it was small and quite old (but the bathroom heater was perfect for the chilly winter!).
Our room's lock was working which was a relief after reading a review about the lock not working. If you're on a budget & looking for great location in terms of convenience to subway and bus, take this.
Miyo, I cannot praise enough. A lovely lady, very helpful and friendly. Her place is neat, tidy and clean apartment, conveniently located with all the basic facilities you need within minutes walk, metro, shopping mall, restaurants and convenience shop.
I highly recommend Miyo and her apartment to anyone seeking affordable and convenient place to stay in Beijing!
Thanks Miyo ☺️
I booked this location based on the positive reviews, but found the apartment was not as advertised. Since this rental was advertised as a room in the host's apartment, the reviews about the host were very important to me. However, when I arrived with my daughter, we found that the hosts actually do not live at the address, and the apartment had a total of three, (maybe four ?) rooms rented out to other people whom I knew nothing about. I decided not to stay, as I didn't feel safe. Miyo apologized, saying she had recently moved out, and said she would provide a refund - but it's been more than a month and she has not provided a refund or responded to emails.
