It is located in the oldest part of Reykjavik, on the outskirt of a charming and quiet little neighborhood called Grjotathorp (Stone village). The first settlers of the country actually built their houses just a stone throw away.
The FlyBus+ from the airport usually stops right outside the house. Just show the driver the address and he will be able to tell you wether he can let you off there or at the nearest hotel or guesthouse, just steps away.
Transportation of all sorts is very close, as this is the down town area. Taxis, buses or the sightseeing tours. A tourist information center is located around the corner.
It is very easy to find a street parking by the house or near the house. The cost is $10 for a full day. Metering times are from 10am to 6pm weekdays, 1pm to 4pm on Saturdays. Sundays are free.
There are two "7-11" grocery stores within few minutes walk from the apartment.
"The apartment has all the comforts of home combined with a great location" as one of our guests put it.

Interaction with Guests
We will communicate via the internet and phone. We are not present during your stay.
The neighborhood is quiet yet central. It is the oldest part of town. There are many charming houses nearby.
Access to all major public transport is easy. Taxis are nearly always present just around the corner in a special Taxi spot at Adalstraeti and bus stops are very close (ask locals or Tourist info in Fischers-sund).
Read at least one book and watch at least one movie. Kids must play with the toys and make at least one imaginary cake in the oven.
Please respect the peace and quiet of the house from midnight to 7 am. Refrain from dragging suitcases in the stairway and bumping them into walls. Please take off your shoes in the apartment at night (it has hard wood floors).
Feel free to use food, spice or wine, just replace before you leave.
Please do not smoke in the apartment.
Visiting Orri's well-designed apartment was amazing. We enjoyed the beds, rain shower as well as its central location in Reykyavik.
Just as pictured/described. Great location, plentiful parking and ideal proximity. Apartment was artfully decorated, well kept and host responsive, with considerate and thorough communications at all times.
A great apartment in a very short walking distance to down town. The dialog with Sigurgeir was excellent and helpful during the preparations and during our stay. The apartment was cozy with comfortable furniture and beds and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment was well cleaned. Easy car parking in the street. Our four year old daughter loved the puzzles and toys :-)
We highly recommend this apartment.
Wow...I just got back from a week stay in Iceland and Sigurgeir and his apartment was PERFECT! My husband and I have been traveling a lot in recent years and I have to say that this has been the best experience yet and the best apartment yet. We were a little bit nervous about finding the apartment (our plane got in Iceland at 1:00 am) and Sigurgeir, since he was in the area, met us at the bus station and took us directly to the apartment (even though it was so late). That was the start to a perfect vacation and we wish we were still there.
We had a fantastic time in Reykjavik and the apartment was perfect for us and our two young children (3 and 7). It was perfectly described and very well situated (in the Downtown area).
We didn't hire a car on this trip so staying in a central area was useful. The apartment is near a small supermarket which sells good fish and vegetables, a nice local swimming pool and most of the big tourist attractions are within walking distance.
The apartment itself was clean, tidy and had everything that we needed to make meals. The three bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. I would have no hesitation recommending this as family accommodation.
Orri is a cool AirBnB-er - he made sure that he contacted me as soon as we arrived and his manual is exactly what you want when staying in a home - every detail is covered off. He is really responsive and quick to come back to any issues or questions.
This was our first airbnb experience and it was fabulous. The location of this apartment is perfect; its located right on the outskirts of the historic neighborhood and in walking distance of all the major sites in Reykjavik. The apartment is really well stocked with everything you might need. For those traveling in the summer, don't worry about the 24 hour sun because there are black out shades for all the windows. Perfect accommodations in a great city in a beautiful country!
Perfect place for your stay in Reykjavik. Within 5 minutes walking distance of most of the main sights but still in a quiet neighborhood. The apartment itself is very comfortable and with a great vibe to it. If you have children, you must stay here.

About the Host, Sigurgeir Orri
When we bought the apartment, it was decorated as a late 70's early 80's law firm. We opted for the original 30's style, still visible behind thick layers of wallpaper, fake palisander boards and paint. It was sad to see the palisander go, there is something charming about it. Changing the law firm to an apartment was not difficult as it was originally built as an apartment and not business.
