Check In
  • Fotini (email hidden). Everything was beautiful and the neighborhood was a perfect jumping off point for us. We very much enjoyed our stay.

  • When we got there Fotini was here to welcome us and show us around although it was quite late. The flat was very nice and conveniently located. It had everything we needed for a one week stay. The only negative point was the second small sofa bed which wasn't that comfortable. It is perfect for two couples but no more.
The terrace was lovely and we enjoyed having breakfast there. It is close to supermarkets, metro and the taxi ride was around 20 US$ to the city center.
I recommend this place for anyone who want to visit Manhattan,

  • Please do not rely on the pictures, because there is definitely a lot more coziness and warmth to Fotini's apartment. It is really a home away from home, and will leave you wanting to stay for a longer time.

Despite the cold weather and the earlier reservation glitch (email hidden), everything was OK the moment we arrived. Fotini welcomed us promptly and left us with a well-stocked apartment - from linens to cooking supplies and much needed moisturizers for the cold weather.

The location was very convenient, it was only a few blocks from the subway station which was a few minutes from Grand Central. Parking on the street was manageable and secure, we were lucky to get a spot right in front of the door.

The neighborhood is full of restaurants with varying cuisine, we always got dinner from a nearby chinese takeout as we are partial to rice but there are a lot more we did not go to since we did not have the time. There is also a highly rated Bar and restaurant a few meters away - that we went to :)

Staying in Fotini's apartment makes one not want to leave, as we have felt. And considering the extensive traveling I have done, this was certainly the best place i have stayed in.

  • Thank you Fotini for a most wonderful stay in the garden apartment. You were so kind and thoughtful which helped to make our planning so easy. We were visiting from Australia and everything was so unfamiliar for us, so we were very grateful for your care and attention. The apartment was perfect for our needs and the location was great. Thank you again, we shall certainly stay there again if we return to New York. Kind regards, Theresa from Australia

    Response from Fotini:

Thank you Theresa! You are such a kind and lovely person! I am blessed to have met you and maybe we see each other in Australia next time :-)

  • I booked this appartment for three weeks and my stay was very nice. Although the wifi was very slow at first, Fotini did her best to fix this problem and it worked great afterwards. She was very nice and accommodating, providing information about the neighborhood, etc.
The appartment is beautiful, very quiet, and above all HUGE. A very positive experience!

  • Fotini was an amazing hostess and the flat was wonderful. The flat is located in East Harlem and less than a 5 minute walk away from the subway station.

The flat itself is beautiful and very spacious and well decorated. There is an extra large bed in the bedroom, 2 sofas which convert into sofa beds, a large bathroom with bathtub and an absolutely beautiful kitchen with supplies for you to use and cook at home if you are sick of constantly eating out.

Fotini was extremely responsive when it came to any issues which arose. For example, a slight issue was the internet connection as it was very weak. However, as soon as I enquired about the connection with Fotini, she informed me that a second modem/router was being installed in the flat to strengthen the signal. I am not sure whether the second modem/router made the connection faster as I informed Fotini not to worry about it while I was there (who wants to be online 24/7 when in NYC?), but the fact that she was willing to find a resolution immediately is wonderful.

Finally, Fotini made me feel relaxed instantly. As soon as my booking was confirmed, she sent a follow up email asking for my arrival detail. After I provided Fotini with my details, she explained to me in detail that she would be waiting with the keys for me at the flat when I arrived. The best thing was, Fotini was indeed there at a flat with a very welcoming smile and personality.

Not only is the flat large and in a good location, Fotini's friendliness and promptness in resolving any issues makes (email hidden) to rent when you are in NYC.

  • I'm so sorry I've left this till the last minute Fotini!!!!!

Myself and Jack had the most incredible trip and your place was a big part of it! Fresh coffee every morning, once we managed to drag ourselves out of the most comfortable bed on earth! Great shower, lovely garden (hope we get to use it in a warmer climate!) and perfect location for those that want to be far away to get a real taste in NY but close enough to the goods! Highly recommend the bar a few doors to the left : )

Wi-Fi was a little temperamental for us, but that would be my only, very minor, criticism.. Hope to see you again in the summer!

  • Fotini's garden apartment was perfect for us. The kitchen is new and well equipped, and anything else we needed was promptly supplied by the lovely Fotini. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Wireless was strong, apartment had a breeze on the warm days and toasty warm when it got cold.

I really found the neighborhood to be very cool - Lots of great up and coming restaurants throughout the neighborhood - Cuban, Mexican, wine bar, BBQ and more. There was a park three blocks away with a fenced in dog run for my dogs to play, the public transportation was easily accessible and very efficient, but it was also very easy to get a cab when i was in a hurry. Parking was also easy to find on the street and CHEAP in the nearby garage. Large shopping center at the end of the street, awesome supermarket with amazing produce two blocks away, and movie theaters not too far away. I will definitely be back the next time I visit my hometown. Thanks Fotini! Woof!

  • My wife and i had a great 4 days staying at Fotini's very cosy apartment. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and there are a host of great eateries round every corner. Check in and check out was great, and the place is very comfortable. Access to the city (Times square was our reference point) was easy, a 20min train ride and we found our way quite easily. Its a nice 20min walk to the top pf central park as well. Highly recommended if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas but still within reach. Must do is have a meal at Harleys just 2 doors down from the apartment.

Hello I am Fotini. Together with my partner, father, grandmother and doggies we call this home our permanent, primary and sole residence in which we happily live in, so we are always here to assist you with your stay :) I believe in the good in people and that what comes around goes around, aka Karma :) I am blessed to be surrounded by the most loving and supportive family and friends who describe me to be caring, kind, funny and fair with a passion for hosting. Yes, I love it!! :)) I love life including its challenges which I try turning into opportunities to grow and shape an even better life and persona. I am Greek, born in Germany, raised up in Greece, studied in France, the UK, the US and India and have been calling Manhattan my home since 1997. I am an animal, human and environmental rights activist, yoga teacher, film producer and the founder of 2 NGO organizations. Feel free to ask me for more details if you take interest in any of this :) The income of the rentals here help me support all of my efforts initiated under mine and other NGO organizations that protect mother nature including her animal beings :) My yoga teacher once said: "When you eat meat, you take on the fear, anxiety and suffering that the animals were feeling when they were being slaughtered/murdered." SInce then I turned vegan and started becoming active in raising awareness about how toxic the world's Food and Pharmaceutical Industries are. Big corporations like Pepsi, Coca Cola and Nestle abuse and extinguish nature, water and animals, add toxic ingredients and then make billion dollar profits in the cost of spreading fatal diseases amongst humans, animals and nature. I hope to aspire as many people as I can to turn vegetarian or vegan and make a shift towards a more peaceful earth and healthy life :) Be loving to each other and already you are (email hidden) for yourself and everyone around you :) Thank you for staying in our home :-)
