Interaction with Guests
I'm always around as I work from home so chances are I'll be here to show you around - unless I'm traveling the world. In that case just call me if you need anything.
Our neighborhood has been referred to as "Funky Town" by Phoenix Magazine. There are lots of artists who call Coronado home as well as many great restaurants within walking distance. Many people (like us!) keep chickens in their backyard and I've even see a gentleman take his miniature "service" pony for a walk down the street. Welcome to Funky Town.
The nearest bus stop is on 7th Street and is only a 3-4 minute walk away. The closest light-rail station is only a 10-12 minute walk from the guest house.
Other Things to Note
Wow that's a lot of yellow stars.
Try the fresh eggs for breakfast or try the local restaurants. Try NOT to eat at McDonalds. There are many amazing local restaurants nearby. The shower is STRONG and you will never feel so clean...so sing in the shower. The toilet flush is strong and loud...don't let it startle you. Travel more and be happy...go on and book the ticket. Pets are ALWAYS welcome.
Enjoy your stay in Phoenix.
Sky's guest house is incredible! First off, there's no key transfer which meant I could arrive when I wanted and get in right away. Sky did greet me however, and is a very courteous host. You're also close to great dining options; I ate at Tuck Shop. The kitchen is stocked with eggs, coffee, and other light breakfast options. I'll be sure to stay again when I'm in the Phoenix area.
My mum and I stayed at Sky's for 2 nights cause we were on a roadtrip and wanted to see the Grand Canyon. We slept in a really cute guest house which was very clean and super cosy. It was big enough for both of us and it even had a kitchen. Sky was a great host and I really recommend staying there. Thanks, Sky!
We were only in Phoenix for a brief overnight, but this was a lovely place to stay. Sky responded quickly when making arrangements for coming in, and I appreciated the thorough orientation to the guest-house and advice about where to find good food nearby. The house was set up well for a comfortable visit.
We had a fantastic wknd at Sky's place. It was the perfect guest retreat, desert hideaway, home away from home! The guest house was such a better choice than a hotel. So many special extras made our wknd a real treat... Fresh eggs from their sweet chickens, ice cold waters and beers (for that lovely 120 degree heat), and the most comfortable, happily air conditioned bedroom & bathroom. Although we didn't get a chance to meet Sky & his family, we felt so cared for by this awesome couple - everything was clean, cozy, and welcoming. We will definitely be back next time we're in Phoenix. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed our stay at Sky's guest house. The guest house was everything we expected from the profile. The proximity to downtown Phoenix was great (about 3 miles).
the room was huge, the bathroom is clean, and toilet flush is indeed strong, so is the shower. Lots of amenities. Easy to get in/out. plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Good atmosphere. Will stay again.
Had a lovely time at Sky's charming, private guest house that served as a more than adequate stopover before (and after) a trip to Sedona/the Grand Canyon. Sky was very helpful, even helped me carry some groceries into the house! He's lived there for quite a while and served as a great resource for advice. Super close to the airport and seemingly everything else around PHX and Scottsdale. As described and shown in the pics.
Lastly, there are other useful things nearby: Supermarket, Walgreens, a couple of decent places to eat within walking distance (really liked Humble Pie's meatballs!), cheap gas (for all you car renters, full tank should more than last/hold between there and the airport).
If in PHX again, would definitely hope stay at Sky's!

About the Host, Sky
I married my best friend on a beach in Mexico, rode bicycles with the locals on the streets of Beijing, hiked the hill towns of the Cinque Terra in Italy, explored 12th century Cambodian temples, swam with sharks in Bora Bora, been offered a beer on the Great Wall, sat 5 feet from wild orangutans in the Sumatran jungle, found heaven in the Alps of Switzerland, played with baby elephants in Thailand, tried speaking Arabic to shopkeepers in Marrakech, found pura vida in Costa Rica, saw what a wall can do in Berlin, marveled at Eiffel's Tower, experienced Dutch tolerance in Amsterdam, walked the Cliffs of Mohr, hiked Machu Picchu, screamed on a bobsled down the Olympic track in Innsbruck, rode a camel on the beach in Abu Dhabi, meandered through the Siq to witness Petra's beauty, shopped my way through Istanbul's Grand Bazar, and danced until 6am at Pacha in Ibiza.
The world is my sandbox.
Can you pass me that little plastic shovel please?
